I am a University of California at Davis graduate with a broad range of customer service, medical and office experience. In 2021, I abruptly switched my career path from helping animals in a veterinary setting to helping people as a fiduciary assistant so that I could be home to help take care of my mother and grandfather. In 2022, after the death of my mother and two grandparents within a two-year period, I dove into the fiduciary industry. As unfortunate as losing my loved ones was, It gave me an intense passion for what I do, and I understand how vital my work is for our community.
I constantly continue to work to better myself and learn more than required to better aid my community and clients. My goal is to boost efficiency and overall productivity of my business to help keep my clients independent and in their homes as long as possible while saving them money!
I grew up in Anderson Valley, California and after Graduation from Mendocino High school, I was accepted into the Animal Science program at UC Davis on the pre-veterinarian route. After three years at UC Davis, I realized that the career that I had dreamed of my whole life, was not going to be everything that I had hoped for. I switched my major to Animal Science and Management and focused on business management courses for the last year and a half of my career at UC Davis.
During my final year at UC Davis in 2019, my grandfather began having a severe onset of Parkinson's disease as well as inability to care for himself, and my mother's cancer had returned for the second time after an almost 20-year remission. She was able to fight through treatments and was in remission for another year. In this time, I finished school and move closer to home so that I was available to help with my grandfather's care. For a year I worked as a veterinary clinic operations supervisor. During this time, my grandmother was admitted to the hospital after sustaining injuries from a fall and passed away soon after.
In 2021, my mother found out that her cancer had returned for a third time and began chemo treatments while continuing to take care of my grandfather. My mother always inspired me to take care of others even when I was going through my own difficulties. My grandfather passed away in 2021 and my mother's battle with cancer worsened. I moved back home so that I could be closer to her and assist in her medical care.
At this time, I found a part-time job at Mendocino Fiduciary as an office assistant, unaware of what a fiduciary was or did. I soon started working part time and helped take care of my mother part time. I fell in love with our clients and the work that we did in the office, so I began taking classes and working toward my license. My mother continued to decline in 2021 and passed away in March 2022. The grief that my family went through during these two years and the events that unfolded only solidified my career path. I realized that there were many ways that I would be able to help others in my community who were going through similar stress and grief with their loved ones.
In March 2023, I obtained my California and National Professional Fiduciary License as well as my certification as a Nationally recognized Guardian. In May 2023, I began setting up my own business and spreading the word about the services that I could offer. On June 1, 2023, I officially began my own business, and I am now proudly accepting new clients.
