Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I buy a book for a library?

This program allows your child to experience the joy that comes with giving and receiving. Because of your donations we are able to keep our collection current after the budget money has vanished, while recognizing a member of the AMS community

What happens after I make a donation?

Once the donation is made, a new hardcover book will be selected, a letter of acknowledgment will be sent home and a bookplate with your inscription will be placed in the front of the book. Donations are welcome throughout the year.

Once the donation is made, who gets to keep the book?

The gift books become a permanent part of our collection and will be enjoyed by our school community for years.

How do I make a donation?

Download the form from this site, fill it out and return it to the AMS Library Media Center.

Can we purchase our own books?

We prefer to purchase the books ourselves due to our collection development policies and to ensure that the bindings meet library standards.

What is the suggested amount for a donation?

The suggested amount $10-$20 because that will cover the cost of most hardcover books. The amount of donation does not have to match the cost of the book exactly.

Who selects the book?

Usually the Library Media Specialist, but students and parents are welcome to come in and make the selection personally.
