Meet Mrs. Hill
Hello White Team math students and your families,
My name is Catherine Hill and I have been teaching at AMS since September 2001. I have been teaching 7th grade math for ten years now. I am originally from New Jersey so you may detect a slight accent. I love my life in Massachusetts; it is here where I have raised my family and enjoyed a wonderful teaching career.
In 2015, AEFI, Inc, the Amesbury Educational Foundation, awarded a local scientist and me the $10,000, SGT Jordan M. Shay Memorial Grant. What an honor. We used the grant money to purchase a laptop and an instrument called a ProDSS. With my husband's assistance, we surveyed Powwow River from the Merrimac River to downtown Amesbury.
I am sharing this information with you because I want you to know that I celebrate challenges. I loved the challenge of writing the grant and then following through with the survey. This spirit defines my teaching. I welcome the challenge of meeting new students, new resources, and yes, due to COVID, a new system of delivery.
This is going to your best year of learning.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hill
