This year we have three Inquiry learning modules with a Social Sciences curriculum focus.
Module 1: Our Journey Our Place
Module 2: Living in the Pacific
Module 3: Living Together
Inquiry Module 3 – Living Together
This module started last term and will run through to the end of Term 4.
Across the school, we will be exploring three big ideas:
The world is made up of seven continents. We all have connections with particular continents.
There are more things that connect us than divide us.
How can we all thrive together in, and for, our connected world?
Ākonga will engage in a range of learning experiences including reading, locating, exploring different continents from the world. They will learn about what is a continent, the characteristics of each continent and delve deeper into a continent of their choosing through their research projects.
We will also explore our own place in the world, finding what connects us to other people in other contries. We will finish off the term with our cultural festival, where students have the opportunities to show everyone different performances, foods and more from their own cultural background.
