Meet The Founder!
Hello! I am Uliana Markutsya, an 11th-grade student at Ames High School who believes in using active, positive community events to make a global difference. As I am a Ukrainian-American, the war between Ukraine and Russia has affected my family, instilling in me a desire to help.Â
The Run for Ukraine 5K was born out of a desire to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people and provide direct, meaningful aid to families affected by the ongoing crisis.
Our Beneficiary: Nova Ukraine
100% of registration fees and direct donations from this event go directly to Nova Ukraine, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid to vulnerable populations in Ukraine.
Nova Ukraine provides crucial assistance, including:
Emergency medical supplies and first-aid kits.
Food, clean water, and shelter for displaced families.
Educational supplies and psychological support for children.
