Any student can apply for ELP, regardless of previous grades or status. You do not need a staff recommendation to apply.
Completed applications can be sent to Carisa Danielson at carisa.danielson@ames.k12.ia.us or dropped off at the AMS main office.
Step 2: Staff reviews application
Step 2: Staff reviews application
We remove any identifying information from the application before reviewing available data such as MAP and ISASP scores, parent recommendations and comments, student comments, and any student artifacts.
Step 3: Staff sends parent and family letter communicating decision and placement

Our staff conducts reviews to process new applicants in the fall and again mid-year at the semester break.
