Any student can apply for ELP, regardless of previous grades or status. You do not need a staff recommendation to apply.

Completed applications can be sent to Carisa Danielson at carisa.danielson@ames.k12.ia.us or Steph Schares steph.schares@ames.k12.ia.us  or dropped off at the AMS main office.

Our staff review information from the application before reviewing available data such as MAP, I Ready, and ISASP scores, teacher recommendations and any other available data, such as the CogAT.

Staff work with counseling staff to schedule student for ELP and notify the family and student of this placement.
