Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt (The American School of Lima) and its community are very excited to host the South American Activities Conference (SAAC) Fine Arts Music Festival and welcome the following schools to the 2026 November season of this great artistic experience for our SAAC students, which will take place in Lima.

International School of Curitiba, Curitiba – Brazil
Nido de Aguilas, Santiago de Chile, Chile
Uruguayan American School, Montevideo - Uruguay
The SAAC Music Festival will be unified under the compelling theme, Change and Renewal. This festival theme celebrates music as a living, evolving art form—one that reflects transformation in both the world around us and within ourselves. Across the program, each ensemble brings a unique voice to this idea, exploring how music can mark transitions, reimagine our world and its traditions, and inspire new beginnings.
In addition, this year marks an exciting new chapter for the festival with the introduction of a Pre-Festival Composition Competition. Students are invited to submit original works for acoustic instrumentation, including string quartet, brass quintet, or SATB vocal ensembles. This initiative celebrates the creative voices of young composers and reflects the festival’s commitment to fostering innovation and new musical beginnings. The winning work will be performed at the festival concert live with professional musicians!
Our music conference will give students the ability to collaborate with their peers from other schools; united in their disciplines to explore and present their learning a variety of ways. The power of international collaborations like the SAAC Fine Arts Festival is for students to learn from teachers in the region and also from other students. The following are the different disciplines that students will explore and engage in throughout the 3 days of learning, culminating in our final performances and closing ceremony on Saturday afternoon.

The choir, utilizing text and harmony, expresses renewal and captures narratives of change, growth, and development of collective identity. Their repertoire will highlight the human experience of change—moments of reflection, hope, and rebirth expressed through the power of the sung word.
The orchestra embraces transformation through rich textures, dynamic contrasts, and new techniques, showcasing how themes can evolve and re-emerge in new forms. From subtle shifts in color to sweeping musical developments, their performance can reflect the continuous process of reinvention.
