Author's Purpose

This one is rather easy: PIE

There are really only 3 reasons why authors write:

1. Persuade- non-fiction, trying to get you to do or believe something.
2. Inform- non-fiction that teaches about something; Explain can be included here or it can be in its own category;
3. Entertain- fiction;

That's it.
