*Relationships are the key to success. Whether you are working with students or adults, relationships are critical to communication, collaboration, and achievement. We all learn better from a person we like and likes us back!

*All students can learn. While not all students are ready for grade level material, all of them are capable of making progress. It's important to remember that learning doesn't necessarily mean mastering grade level standards. It means growth.

*Instructional decisions should be made with student needs and learning goals in mind. Not every lesson is better with technology. Some times being a tech "expert" involves knowing when NOT to use technology. I am strong believer in what Alice Keeler says: "Paperless Is Not a Pedagogy."

*Giving students the opportunity to practice the 4 C's (communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking) is essential to their success both in school and when they go out into society. While content standards are very important, these "soft skills" will carry students through many jobs, careers, and life experiences. Technology is one great tool that can help us expose our students to these important skills!

*When used correctly, technology is a powerful tool. It opens doors to experiences that are not otherwise possible. By itself, technology can not change student achievement, but in the hands of a great teacher, it can change absolutely everything.

*Adults learn best when the learning is "just in time." However, there isn't always someone around when we need the help! That is why I have created this website. It can help you even when you can't find an actual person!
