Is the Doctrine of UNCONDICTIONAL Election the TRUTH of God's Word?
This is actually part 2 of the “U” in the acronym T.U.L.I.P. in the study on Calvinism but is it part 5 in the series of studies on all five points of Calvinism. So in part four of the series which is part 1 of this one point of Calvinism called the doctrine of “unconditional election” we ended with the question of WHEN did God love Jacob and hate Esau? Was it before they were born? Or was it after God saw their WORKS God loved Jacob and hated? So in this study, we will cover some of the many verses of Scriptures that clearly teach us that we will be judged BY our WORKS. And if our WORKS are found to be unworthy to receive eternal life then Jesus will BLOT OUT the names of those who WORKS are found to NOT be worthy. Let us begin with John 6:29 which some Christians interpret out of its context to wrongly mean that we have but ONE work and that one work is to BELIEVE that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God who died for the sin of ONLY the so-called ELECT.

“LABOR not for the meat which PERISHES, BUT (Or rather, LABOR or WORK) FOR that meat which ENDURES UNTO EVERLASTING LIFE, which the Son of man SHALL GIVE unto you: (WHEN and IF you FINISH the WORK to endure unto the end to be saved) for HIM (Speaking of ONLY those who WORK the WORKS of God to ENDURE UNTO the END) has God the Father SEALED. (Or more precisely, God the Father seals is the active present tense, as opposed, to permanently being sealed in the past tense and is impossible to be unsealed, according to the Calvinistic interpretation of being sealed)
28. Then said they unto him, What shall we DO, that we might WORK the WORKS of God?
29. Jesus answered and said unto them, THIS IS the WORK of God, that you BELIEVE on him whom He has sent.”
Now some Christians, namely, the Calvinistic, Reformed Theology, and the Grace Alone Christians STOP right here at verse 29 and say things like, “There this PROVES that we are NOT saved by WORKS but we are saved by FAITH ALONE. Jesus himself said all we have to DO to be saved is to BELIEVE on him whom Almighty God has sent, case closed, end of discussion.”
But this is NOT the ONLY thing that Jesus SAID! WHAT does the WHOLE word of God teach us about WHAT it MEANS to BELIEVE in Jesus? Does the word of TRUTH simply teach us that all we have to do to RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE is to accept Jesus as our Savior and then we are ETERNALLY SAVED and that there is NOTHING that can cause us to LOSE our salvation? NO! Absolutely NOT! The WORKS that the Apostle Paul is referring to in Ephesians 2:8,9 where were are not saved by WORKS is found in Ephesians 2:15.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9. Not of works, lest any man should boast…
...15. Having abolished in his flesh the enmity,(Or having abolished the WORKS) even the law of commandments CONTAINED in ORDINANCES; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;”
The law of commandments CONTAINED in ORDINANCES are all the “ceremonial” works of keeping the feast days, the Sabbath days, including the weekly Sabbath day, and the dietary laws of God. Ordinances are “instructions” on HOW to keep the law of commandments under the Old Covenant. In other words, we still KEEP the feast of Passover under the New Covenant but the HOW we keep it has CHANGED. We keep the commandment of Passover BY our FAITH in Jesus as BEING our Passover Lamb. God never abolished His MORAL law of commandments. But rather, Jesus summed up all the moral law of commandment into the one commandment to walk in LOVE. And if we break or disobey the commandment of Jesus to LOVE one another then we sin. So again, the WORKS of the Law of Moses CONTAINED in ORDINANCES are the works that do NOT save us. In truth, God saved us to DO good WORKS and if we do NOT do GOOD works by walking in LOVE then we are disobedient children of God who are appointed to the WRATH of God unless we repent and confess our sins.
Mark 1:15 teaches us to REPENT and BELIEVE the GOSPEL. Does this mean that we only need to believe the PART of the GOSPEL that we like and NOT BELIEVE the REST of the GOSPEL?

“And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: REPENT you, and BELIEVE the GOSPEL.”
In Mark 16:16 Jesus teaches us that he the BELIEVES AND is BAPTIZED shall be SAVED. and he that believes NOT shall be damned. In other words, those who believe ALL of the GOSPEL to OBEY the truth shall be SAVED and those who believe NOT ALL the GOSPEL and DISOBEY the commandments of Jesus shall be DAMNED.
Mark 16:16.
“He that believes AND is BAPTIZED shall be saved, BUT he that believes NOT shall be damned.”
In other words, if you harden your own heart and refuse to be baptized in water because you do NOT BELIEVE that it matters whether or not you are baptized in water so, therefore, you wrongly believe that do not have to OBEY the words of Jesus, then you will NOT receive ETERNAL LIFE in the world to come because you are not TRULY believing the whole word of God. John 20:31 teaches us that we must CONTINUE to BELIEVE in order to receive eternal life.

“But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that BELIEVING (As in, CONTINUAL BELIEVING in the WORDS of Jesus Christ) you might have life through his name.”
Then in Luke 8:11-15, we read that ONLY those that KEEP the WORD of God in their hearts after they BELIEVE and RECEIVE the WORD of TRUTH will bear fruit unto eternal life.

“Now the parable is this: The seed is the WORD of God.
12. Those by the wayside are they that hear; then comes the devil, and takes AWAY the WORD OUT of their hearts, (THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE WORD OF GOD INTO YOUR HEART IS TO FIRST BELIEVE)so Jesus is talking about true born again Christians where those by the wayside ALLOW Satan to take away the word of truth OUT of their hearts) lest they should BELIEVE (Which means to CONTINUE to BELIEVE UNTO THE END) and be saved.
13. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, RECEIVE the WORD with joy; and these have no root, which FOR AWHILE BELIEVE, and in time of temptation FALL AWAY. (Speaking of true BORN AGAIN believers falling AWAY by NOT CONTINUING to BELIEVE because they have not rooted and grounded themselves in God's word and, therefore, they are easily DECEIVED)
14. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection (Or bring no fruit of righteousness to completion. They have not ENDURED unto the END to be saved, as in, to actually RECEIVE eternal life in the world to come. But rather, they were deceived to live in sin and NOT repent and confess their sins making excuses that ONLY Jesus can live without sin)
15. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, KEEP IT, (Or they BELIEVE unto the END and RESIST the temptations to give in to sin) and bring forth fruit with patience.”
John 12:47-50 teaches us that the WORD of God that Jesus spoke to us shall JUDGE us in the last day and we can either choose to BELIEVE the words of Jesus or we can CHOOSE to REJECT the words of Jesus, but in the END the WORD of God will JUDGE us all.

“And if any man hears my WORDS, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48. He that rejects me, and receives not my WORDS, has ONE that judges him: the WORD that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
49. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
Jesus said in John 15:14 that IF we truly LOVE him then we are to KEEP his COMMANDMENTS!

“If you LOVE me, KEEP my COMMANDMENTS.”
Then one of the LAST things Jesus spoke to his CHURCH was in Revelation 22:14,15, where Jesus is WARNING his church to KEEP the COMMANDMENTS of Almighty God under the New Covenant written in the New Testament IN ORDER to be FOUND WORTHY to have the RIGHT to the tree of ETERNAL LIFE!

“Blessed are they that DO His commandments, (WHY? Why are ONLY they that DO the commandments of God the ONLY ones to be called BLESSED?) THAT (Or SO THAT, or IN ORDER THAT) THEY (Speaking of ONLY they that DO or KEEP the COMMANDMENTS of God under the NEW Covenant written in the New Testament to CEASE from the works of the law of commandments CONTAINED in ORDINANCES, in order that THEY) may have RIGHT to the tree of life and may ENTER IN through the gates into the city.
15. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whore mongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loves and makes a lie.”
The seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping Christians love making the LIE that Christians MUST keep the weekly Sabbath day in order to receive eternal life in the world to come. And Calvinist Christians along with Reformed Theology and Grace Alone Christians love making the LIE that WORKS do NOT make us worthy to receive eternal life.
Remember Jesus said whosoever, which includes those who SAY that they are Christians, but they do not truly the WORDS of Jesus to KEEP the commandments under the New Covenant written in the New Testament shall be DAMNED. Do NOT be DECEIVED by only believing PART of the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ. I implore all those who have been taught this FALSE doctrine of ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED to read the WHOLE word of God concerning what it means to be SAVED. I have several studies on this subject that I encourage you to read. Do NOT let PRIDE in the DOCTRINES of MAN cause you to fall. Hear the WHOLE matter BEFORE you make a judgment.
Proverbs 18:12,13,
“Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, (Or filled with PRIDE), and before honor is humility.
13. He that ANSWERS a matter BEFORE he HEARS it, it is folly and shame unto him.”
Well, enough said on this subject for now. Let us get back on track to the subject at hand, which is to learn IF the word of God TRULY teaches us that God has CHOSEN only CERTAIN SPECIFIC INDIVIDUALS from BEFORE the foundation of the world.
2 Timothy 1:9,10 CLEARLY teaches us that we are FIRST SAVED as in we are brought back into RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with Almighty God through the blood of Jesus and are CALLED or we are ELECTED to LIVE HOLY before the Lord.

“Who has saved us, and CALLED us with a HOLY CALLING, not according to OUR works, (Meaning our OWN works that we did before in our OWN strength wherein there is BOASTING. And again, the WORKS that Paul is talking about are the works of the Law of Moses CONTAINED in ORDINANCES) but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, (In other words, Almighty God determined and purposed to give all of mankind His GRACE from before the foundation of the world and that through His GRACE shall come SALVATION AND ETERNAL LIFE to those who BELIEVE in His Son, Jesus)
10. But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death, and has brought life and immortality to light THROUGH the gospel:”
Please notice that LIFE, as in abundant life in this present world we live in now and immortality or ETERNAL LIFE in the world to come is brought to LIGHT or to our UNDERSTANDING THROUGH the preaching of the GOSPEL. The word of TRUTH teaches us that God CHOSE that THROUGH the foolishness of PREACHING as the MEAN by which the lost are to OBTAIN salvation.
Please read 1 Corinthians 1:18-31, which teaches us that the GOSPEL is the POWER of God that brings salvation to those who BELIEVE.

“For the PREACHING of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved, it is the POWER of God.
19. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20. Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21. For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God BY the foolishness of PREACHING to save them that believe.
22. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23. But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24. But unto them which are CALLED, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26. For you see your CALLING, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are CALLED:
27. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28. And base things of the world, and things which are despised, has God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to naught things that are:
29. That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30. But of him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31. That, according, as it is written, He that glories, let him glory in the Lord.”
Now those who teach Calvinism and Reformed Theology focus so intensely on verse 24 and teach that it is ONLY the CALLED or the ELECT who will BELIEVE the GOSPEL. In other words, they equate the CALLING of the gospel to repent as being synonymous with ELECTION or being one of the CHOSEN ONES who were, according to Calvinism, chosen from BEFORE the foundation of the world to be saved.
But what does the whole word of God have to say on this subject of being CALLED? In other words, HOW is someone CALLED by God and WHAT are they CALLED TO? Take a look at 2 Thessalonians 2:14, which CLEARLY teaches us that people are CALLED BY the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ. This is HOW Almighty God the Father DRAWS us to his SON Jesus.

“Whereunto He (Almighty God) called you BY our GOSPEL, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Jesus said in Matthew 20:16 that many are CALLED, but FEW are CHOSEN, which teaches us that ONLY those who ANSWER the CALL of the GOSPEL to REPENT are CHOSEN by Almighty God to be SAVED.

“So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.”
The truth of the matter is that Almighty God has chosen RIGHTEOUSNESS from before that foundation of the world and has rejected unrighteousness. And God has chosen that this righteousness is IN or through His Son Jesus from before the foundation of the world. In other words, NO ONE, or no specific person is CHOSEN from BEFORE the foundation of the world to be saved, but rather each individual person is CHOSEN by God to be saved on the BASIS of whether or not they ANSWER the CALL of God to REPENT. This is WHEN a person BECOME one of the ELECTION or one of the CHOSEN ONES by God. It is WHEN a person responds by FAITH to the CALL of the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ to REPENT. Please read Ephesians 1:3-5, which clearly teaches us that WHAT God CHOSE from BEFORE the foundation of the world was for SALVATION to be IN Jesus Christ His Son. And that WHAT we are PREDESTINED TO be is to become the adopted sons and daughters of Almighty God BY or THROUGH his Son Jesus the Christ. Yes, we are his sons and daughters now IF SO BE we CONTINUE to follow and OBEY the Holy Spirit, according to Romans chapter 8.
Ephesians 1:3-5.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places IN Christ:
4. ACCORDING as He (Almighty God) has CHOSEN us IN him BEFORE the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5. Having predestined us UNTO the adoption of children BY Jesus Christ to himself, ACCORDING to the good pleasure of his will,”
You see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, it is NOT so much the WHO, as in being certain specific individuals that Almighty God CHOSE to be SAVED from BEFORE the foundation of the world, but RATHER the WHAT or the MEANS BY WHICH God CHOSE that mankind shall be saved, which is IN HIM, IN CHRIST Jesus who was SLAIN in the mind of God from BEFORE the foundation of the world.
The TRUTH of the matter is that no one is CHOSEN by God UNTIL they become OBEDIENT to the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ by walking in RIGHTEOUSNESS. You see, it is the WHAT God CHOOSES, more so than the WHO God chooses? What I mean by this is that God will NOT CHOOSE those who walk in UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. That is to say, God ONLY chooses those who walk in RIGHTEOUSNESS, but even more specifically God CHOOSES only those who are found to be IN Christ Jesus. In other words, God does not choose those who walk in their OWN righteousness where there is room for boasting. Therefore the only way to be found RIGHTEOUS is to be found IN Jesus Christ and the only way to be found IN Jesus Christ is to BELIEVE the word of TRUTH. But HOW shall a person BELIEVE in that which they have HEARD nothing about? In Romans 10:8-14 we read HOW shall they BELIEVE unless they HEAR the GOSPEL?

“But what says it? The word is nigh you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the word of FAITH, which we PREACH;
9. That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall BELIEVE in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.
10. FOR (Or because or for this reason) with the heart man BELIEVES unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
11. For the Scripture says, WHOSOEVER believes ON him shall not be ashamed.
12. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call (Or answer the call of the GOSPEL and call) upon him.
13. For WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14. HOW then shall they call on him in whom they have NOT believed? And HOW shall they BELIEVE in him of whom they have NOT HEARD? And HOW shall they HEAR without a preacher?”
You see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, FAITH COMES BY HEARING, and hearing or true understanding comes by hearing the word of TRUTH. In other words, FIRST, a person HEARS the GOSPEL, and then they EITHER make the CHOICE to receive what they HEARD as the TRUTH or they make the CHOICE to REJECT what they HEARD as FOOLISHNESS. In other words, there is no power in the GOSPEL unless it is BELIEVED by the HEARER and then ACTED upon, which shows that true faith has come to the hearer of the gospel.
Now IF a person makes the CHOICE to BELIEVE the GOSPEL and in OBEDIENCE to the word of God then CALLS upon the name of the Lord, then this is WHEN that particular individual person shall BECOME one of the ELECT or CHOSEN ONES by Almighty God. But even then being a CHOSEN ONE or CALLED OUT one by God does NOT AUTOMATICALLY guarantee that this ELECT person or CHOSEN ONE shall OBTAIN the PROMISE of eternal life in the world to come. In other words, a BELIEVER must REMAIN a believer unto the END of their life or until Jesus returns and be found FAITHFUL in order to OBTAIN eternal life in the world to come. For a deeper understanding on this subject as to WHEN we actually obtain ETERNAL LIFE please read the study entitled “IS ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED BIBLICAL?” But for now, I would like you to read Galatians 1:6, which teaches us that once a person has been called they can still be deceived to believe a FALSE GOSPEL or in another Jesus, which is NOT the true image of Almighty God the Father.

“I marvel that you are so soon REMOVED from him that CALLED you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:”
Now, Paul is speaking to the CHURCH that is in Galatia. He is speaking to true born-again believers who have been CALLED by the gospel of Jesus Christ unto SAVING GRACE that brought them back into the right relationship with God. And these same TRUE born-again Christians are being REMOVED from the true faith in Jesus Christ by being compelled to do the WORKS of the Law of Moses contained in ORDINANCES to be CIRCUMCISED in the flesh as the Jews are circumcised under the Old Covenant written in the Old Testament. Later in Galatians 3:3,4, Paul is worried that what he has preached to them has been in VAIN but then realizes that the mercy of God is greater than their transgression to seek salvation under the Old Covenant by being circumcised and says IF it yet is in vain. In other words, IF they REPENT, confess their MISSING the mark by wrongly keeping the Law of Moses contained in ordinances that were NAILED to the cross then God will forgive them. So Sabbath-keeping Christians still have a chance to REPENT of the sin or missing the mark of not obeying the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ by their wrongly keeping the Law of Moses to try to please God.
Galatians 3:3,4.
“Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now made perfect by the flesh?
4. Have you suffered so many things in VAIN? IF it is yet in vain.?”
In other words, IF Paul can persuade them that what they were being compelled to do by the Jews was NOT the way to obtain ETERNAL LIFE, then there would still yet be HOPE for them to continue their walk with God in FAITH and not in the works of the old covenant law, which none of their fathers could keep.
Now I want you to KNOW that I myself teach the keeping of the COMMANDMENTS of Almighty God just as Jesus himself taught us that all the law and the prophets are fulfilled in loving the Lord our God with all our hearts mind and strength and to love our neighbor as our self, but I do not teach that we are to keep the old covenant rituals that were a shadow of things to come that were fulfilled IN Jesus Christ. For example, we are NOT to keep the old covenant LAW of offering animal sacrifices for our sins. For a deeper understanding of what the WHOLE word of God teaches about keeping the law and not being under the law please read the study entitled “WE ARE NOT SAVED BY OUR OWN GOOD WORKS” and “THE WORKS OF THE LAW VERSUS GOOD WORKS” But for now, let us continue this study on examining Calvinism in the light of the whole word of God.
One of the statements of the faith in Calvinism under this doctrine of UNCONDITIONAL Election is that every single person who was chosen to be saved will be saved and none will ever lose their salvation. In other words, ACCORDING to Calvinism, their ELECTION is already SURE as in guaranteed without fail.
However, the word of TRUTH warns and exhorts true born-again believers to MAKE their calling and election SURE. Please read 2 Peter 1:3-12, which teaches us the YOU YOURSELF must MAKE your own CALLING and ELECTION SURE and if you do NOT, then there will be NO entrance into everlasting life given to you.

“According as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has CALLED us to glory and virtue:
4. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious PROMISES: that BY THESE (Speaking of the great and precious PROMISES hidden throughout God's word) you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5. And beside this, giving all diligence, ADD to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6. And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7. And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8. For IF these things are in you, and abound, THEY MAKE you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9. BUT he (Of you, speaking to true born-again believers) that LACKS these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10. Wherefore the RATHER, brethren, (Again, speaking to true born again believer WARNING that YOU YOURSELF) give the diligence to MAKE your CALLING and ELECTION SURE: for IF ye do these things, you shall never fall: (Or IF you are diligent to do these things then you shall never SIN)
11. For so (Or for so then, or because you have made your calling and election SURE by keeping SIN out of your life by being diligent to do these things then) an ENTRANCE shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
12. Wherefore (Or for this very reason) I will NOT be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though you know them, and be established in the present TRUTH.”
Can you not see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, the WE OURSELVES, each and every one of us who have been called BY the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ MUST MAKE our own election SURE by OBEYING the GOSPEL, these great and precious promises that God will NOT allow us to be tempted ABOVE that we ourselves are ABLE to bear and OVERCOME and therefore keep SIN out of our lives unto the END in order to OBTAIN the PROMISE of ETERNAL LIFE that will be given ONLY to those of us who are found to be a good and FAITHFUL servant of God in the END. Now some of you may think that this is WORKS-based salvation because it has been drilled into you over and over and over again and again that you are SAVED by GRACE THROUGH FAITH and NOT OF OURSELVES or of WORKS lest there be boasting.
YES, the word of God does teach us this truth, but in the very next verse, the word of TRUTH ALSO teaches us that we are made new creatures in Christ for the very PURPOSE of DOING GOOD WORKS. So then, doing GOOD WORKS is a PART of our salvation. Please read Ephesians 2:1-13, which teaches us about the NEW covenant that brought salvation or reconciliation and the HOPE to the GENTILES who had NO hope of eternal life BEFORE this time of Jesus coming to redeem ALL of mankind back to God, but NOW through the blood of Jesus the Christ, we ALL have the HOPE and PROMISE of obtaining eternal life in the world to come.
Ephesians 2:1-13.
“And you (Speaking to true born again believers) has he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2. Wherein in TIME PAST you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of DISOBEDIENCE:
3. Among whom also we ALL HAD our conversation in TIMES PAST in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and WERE (In times past) by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5. Even when we were dead in sins, has quickened us together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;)
6. And has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7. That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8. For BY grace are you saved (As in, we are brought back into right relationship with God and given the PROMISE of eternal life) THROUGH faith; and that NOT of yourselves: IT (Speaking of the GRACE, the FAITH and the being brought back into right relationship with God) is the GIFT of God:
9. NOT of WORKS, (Speaking of OUR OWN works of righteousness which we do in our OWN strength and also speaking of the WORKS of the Law of Moses CONTAINED in ORDINANCES that was abolished and nailed to the cross, according to Ephesians 2:15 and Colossians 2:8-17) lest any man should boast.
10. For we are HIS workmanship, CREATED IN Christ Jesus UNTO GOOD WORKS, which God has before ORDAINED that we should WALK in them (Meaning that Almighty God made us NEW CREATURES IN Christ Jesus in order to empower us to WALK in RIGHTEOUSNESS and GOOD WORKS which he ORDAINED before the foundation of the world according to his good pleasure.
11. Wherefore (Or for this reason) remember, that YOU (Still speaking to true born again believers) being in TIME PAST Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12. That AT THAT TIME you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of PROMISE, having NO HOPE, and without God in the world:
13. But NOW IN Christ Jesus, you who sometimes were far off are made nigh BY the blood of Christ.
14. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15. Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, (Or having abolished the WORKS) even the law of commandments CONTAINED is ORDINANCES; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16. And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:”
Now, I placed the FOCUS upon the TRUTH that we WERE SINNERS in TIME PAST but NOW are made NEW CREATURES IN Christ Jesus for the very PURPOSE of DOING GOOD WORKS.
I also emphasized the words PROMISE and HOPE, because some Christians are being deceived with the false teaching that as soon as one confesses Jesus as their Lord and Savior, then they are GIVEN eternal life at that point in time and therefore can never lose their salvation no matter what because the word eternal means eternal.
But the WHOLE word of TRUTH clearly and plainly teaches us that eternal life is given to us as a PROMISE of a REWARD that we shall receive in the world to come, IF SO BE we remain in the faith and we are found faithful unto the END. I want you to read these following verses of Scripture which teach us that our reward of eternal life is yet future and that we must make our calling and election SURE so that we will be found worthy to have the right to the tree of life in the world to come.
1 John 2:25.
“And this is the PROMISE that he has PROMISED us, even eternal life.”
2 Timothy 1:1.
“Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the PROMISE of life which is in Christ Jesus.”
1 Timothy 4:8-16.
“For bodily exercise profits little: but GODLINESS is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. (Or in other words, ONLY those who are living GODLY lives have the PROMISE of eternal life abiding in them)
9. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance.
10. For, therefore (Or for this very reason) we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of ALL men, especially of those that believe. (Or more specifically God will save only those who BELIEVE, as in, continually believe unto the end to endure the sufferings of temptations to not give in to sin. And IF we do sin then we are to repent quickly and keep on fighting the good fight of faith)
11. These things COMMAND and TEACH.
12. Let no man despise your youth; but be you an EXAMPLE of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
13. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
14. Neglect not the gift that is in you, (Speaking of the gift of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us as our HELPER and our strength, the greater one than he that is in the world, which was given you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
15. Meditate upon these things; give yourself wholly to them; that your profiting may appear to all.
16. Take heed unto yourself, and unto the doctrine; CONTINUE in them: for in DOING THIS you shall both SAVE yourself and them that HEAR you.”
Titus 1:2.
“In HOPE of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, PROMISED before the world began;”
Titus 3:7,8.
“That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the HOPE of eternal life.
8. This is a faithful saying and these things I will that you AFFIRM CONSTANTLY, that they which have believed in God might be careful to MAINTAIN GOOD WORKS. These things are good and profitable unto men.”
James 1:12.
“Blessed is the man that ENDURES temptation: for when he is tried, (Or blessed is he that ENDURES unto the END of the temptation and OVERCOMES sin)he shall RECEIVE the crown of life, which the Lord has PROMISED to them that LOVE him.”
Remember that those who LOVE the Lord will KEEP the commandments that he gave to us.
1 John 3:14-18.
“We know that we have passed from death unto life BECAUSE we LOVE the brethren. He that loves NOT his brother ABIDES IN DEATH.
15. Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer: and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
16. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17. But whoso has this world's good, and sees his brother have a need, and shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwells the LOVE of God in him?
18. My little children, let us NOT love in word, neither in tongue; BUT in DEED and in truth.
19. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.”
Matthew 7:13-27.
“Enter you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the WAY, which LEADS UNTO life, and few there be that find it.
15. BEWARE of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16. You shall know them BY their FRUITS. Do men gather grapes of thorns or figs of thistles?
17. Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.
18. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19. Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.
20. Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them.
21. Not everyone that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall ENTER into the kingdom of heaven; BUT he that DOES the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? And in your name have cast out devils? (Do NOT be DECEIVED my dear brothers and sisters in the Lord ONLY a true born-again believer has been given the authority to cast out devils in the name of Jesus. Remember what happened to the seven sons of Sceva, when they tried to cast out a devil in the name of Jesus) And in your name done many wonderful works?
23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: DEPART from me, you that WORK INIQUITY.
24. THEREFORE (Or for this very reason) whosoever hears these sayings of mine and DOES them, I will liken him unto a WISE man, which built his house upon a rock:
25. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell NOT: for (Or BECAUSE) it was founded upon a rock (Or BECAUSE that person was rooted and grounded in the TRUTH of being a DOER of the word and NOT just a hearer only whereby some are DECEIVED)
26. And every one that hears these sayings of mine, and does them NOT, shall be likened unto a FOOLISH man, which built his house upon the sand:
27. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it FELL: and great was the fall of it.”
For those of you who are not familiar with this account found in Acts 19:10-18 about the seven sons of Sceva who was a Jew who tried to use the name of Jesus to cast out a devil from a man and the evil spirits that were in this man answered them and said Paul I know and Jesus I know, but WHO are you? Then the evil spirit came out of the man, but jump on these seven other men and tore them up because they were NOT true believers. So do not be deceived by those who try and tell you that those who have cast out devils and did many wonderful works of healing were NOT true born-again believers. The TRUTH of the matter is that they were truly born-again believers when they did these mighty things in the name of Jesus, but somewhere along the way they were DECEIVED by the deceitfulness of SIN and FELL from the narrow way and let SIN creep back into their lives, so it was IF Jesus had never known them.
Acts 10:9-18.
“And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews, and Greeks.
11. And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:
12. So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
13. Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.
14. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.
15. And the evil spirit answered and said Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?
16. And the man in whom the evil spirit leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
17. And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus, and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
18. And many that believed came, and confessed, and SHOWED their DEEDS.”
Again, do NOT be DECEIVED by these FALSE doctrines of Calvinism and Reformed Theology that teach that the receiving of ETERNAL LIFE is UNCONDITIONAL and that from the moment you confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior you are saved and can never lose your salvation no matter what.
What these FALSE teachers do NOT teach you is that salvation is separated into two parts; our initially being forgiven of all our PAST sins AND our WALK with God in RIGHTEOUSNESS where we will be JUDGED BY OUR WORKS. For a deep understanding of the CONDITIONS that you must, without fail, meet in order to be found worthy to have the RIGHT to OBTAIN your REWARD of ETERNAL LIFE in the world to come please read the studies entitled “WE ARE NOT SAVED BY OUR OWN GOOD WORKS” and “IS ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED BIBLICAL?” But for now, I want you to read a few more passages of Scripture that clearly teach us that in order to enter into ETERNAL LIFE we must be a DOER of the word and NOT a hearer only whereby we DECEIVE ourselves. Therefore, we must KEEP ourselves in the LOVE of God by DOING GOOD WORKS of RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Jude 1:21.
“KEEP yourselves in the LOVE of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ UNTO eternal life.”
James 2:14-26.
“What does it PROFIT, my BRETHREN, though a man SAYS he has faith, and have NOT WORKS works? Can faith save him? (Or can faith ALONE save him without the WORKS the proves his faith)
15. If a brother or sister be naked and destitute of daily food,
16. And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be you warmed and filled; notwithstanding you give them not those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit?
17. Even so faith, if it has not worked, is dead, being ALONE.
18. Yea, a man may SAY, You have faith, and I have works: show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith BY my WORKS.
19. You believe that there is one God; you do well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20. But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21. Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22. See you how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
23. And the scripture was fulfilled which says, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
24. You see then how that BY WORKS a man is justified, and not by faith ONLY.
25. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by WORKS, when she had received the messengers and had sent them out another way?
26. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."
James 1:21-27.
“WHEREFORE (Or for this very reason) lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22. But be you DOERS of the word, and NOT hearers ONLY, DECEIVING your own selves.
23. For if any be a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24. For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and straightway forgets what manner of man he was. (Or he forgets that he was FREED from SIN by the blood of Jesus and that SIN shall NOT have DOMINION over him anymore)
25. But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty and CONTINUES therein, he being NOT a forgetful hearer, but a DOER of the WORK, this man shall be blessed in his DEED.
26. If any man among you seems to be religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
27. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to KEEP himself without spot from the world.”
That means that we must WORK to keep ourselves WITHOUT SIN in this present world.
Matthew 25:31-46.
“WHEN the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32. And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats:
33. And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, you blessed of my Father, INHERIT the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: (WHY? Why will these be BLESSED of the Lord and welcome in to inherit eternal life?)
35. FOR (Or BECAUSE when) I was hungry, and you gave me meat: (Or you did a GOOD WORK unto me) I was thirsty, and you gave me drink: (Or you did a GOOD WORK unto me) I was a stranger, and you took me in: (Or you did a GOOD WORK unto me)
36. Naked, and you clothed me: (Or you did a GOOD WORK unto me) I was sick, and you visited me: (Or you did a GOOD WORK unto me) I was in prison, and you came unto me. (Or you did a GOOD WORK unto me).
37. Then shall the RIGHTEOUS answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we you hungry, and fed you? Or thirsty, and gave you drink?
38. When saw we you a stranger, and took you in? Or naked, and clothed you?
39. Or when saw we you sick, or in prison, and came unto you?
40. And the King (Jesus) shall answer and say unto them, (Speaking of ONLY the RIGHTEOUS who SHOWED their FAITH by their WORKS Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as you have DONE it (Speaking of DOING GOOD WORKS of RIGHTEOUSNESS) unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.
41. Then shall he say ALSO unto them on the left hand, (The UNRIGHTEOUS and WORKERS of INIQUITY), Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:(But WHY? Why are these who are cast into the everlasting fire called GOATS or the UNRIGHTEOUS?)
42. FOR (Or BECAUSE when) I was hungry, and you gave me no meat: (Or you saw that I had a need and you never even lifted a finder to reach out and help me. you did NO GOOD WORK unto me) I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink: (Or you did NO GOOD WORK into me)
43. I was a stranger, and you took me not in: (Or you did NO GOOD WORK into me) naked, and you clothed me not: (You did NO GOOD WORK unto me) sick, and in prison, and you visited me not. (You did NO GOOD WORK unto me)
44. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we you a hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did NOT minister unto you?
45. Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as you did it NOT (or did NO GOOD WORK of RIGHTEOUSNESS) to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.
46. And these (Speaking of those who were NOT DOERS of the WORD) shall go away into everlasting punishment: BUT the RIGHTEOUS (Those who say they are Christians who are DOERS of the word and NOT just hearers only by showing their FAITH by their GOOD WORKS shall enter) into life eternal.”
Romans 2:7-10.
“To them who BY patient CONTINUANCE in WELL DOING SEEK for glory and honor and immortality, ETERNAL LIFE:
8. BUT unto them that are contentious, and DO NOT OBEY the TRUTH, but obey unrighteousness, indignation, and wrath,
9. Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that DOES EVIL, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10. But glory, honor, and peace, to every man that WORKS GOOD, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:”
Paul is talking to true born-again Christians warning us that we must SEEK eternal life BY our patient CONTINUANCE of obeying the TRUTH to do good works because the unfaithful disobedient Christians who do NOT OBEY the truth to do evil and unrighteous deed will suffer the WRATH of God.
Galatians 6:7-9.
“Be NOT DECEIVED; God is NOT mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.
8. For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap LIFE EVERLASTING.
9. And let us NOT be weary in WELL DOING: for in due season we shall reap, IF we faint NOT.”
1 Timothy 6:11-19.
“But you, O man of God, flee these things; and FOLLOW after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12. Fight the good fight of faith, (WHY? Why must we fight the good fight of faith to live godly in this present world? So that we may) lay hold on eternal life, whereunto you are also called, and have professed a good profession before many witnesses.
13. I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickens all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;
14. That you keep this commandment without spot, unable to be rebuked, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
15. Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
16. Who only has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.
17. Charge them that are rich in this world, that they are not high minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;
18. That they DO GOOD, that they are RICH in GOOD WORKS, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
19. LAYING UP in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, (WHY?) THAT (Or so that, or in order that) they may LAY HOLD on ETERNAL LIFE.”
Jesus himself WARNS us, the CHURCH, several times in the book of Revelation that the reward of ETERNAL LIFE will be given to ONLY those of us who OVERCOME SIN.
Revelation 2: 2-7.
“I know your WORKS, and your labor, and your patience, and how you can not bear them which are evil: and you have tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and have found them to be liars:
3. And have borne, and have patience, and for my name's sake have labored, and have NOT fainted.
4. NEVERTHELESS I have somewhat AGAINST you because you have left your first love.
5. Remember therefore from whence you are FALLEN, and REPENT, and DO the first WORKS; OR ELSE I will come unto you quickly, and will remove your candlestick out of his place, except you REPENT.
6. But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
7. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; To HIM that OVERCOMES will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.”
Revelation 2:9-11.
“I know your WORKS, and tribulation and poverty, (but you are rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
10. Fear none of those things which you shall suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that you may be tried; and you shall have tribulation ten days: be you FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH, and I will give you a crown of life.
11. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; He that OVERCOMES shall not be hurt of the second death.”
Revelation 3:4,5.
“You have a FEW names even in Sardis which have NOT defiled their garments, and THEY (Speaking of ONLY these FEW who are living WITHOUT SIN) shall walk with me in white: (WHY? Why are only these FEW Christians going to be given ETERNAL LIFE?) FOR (Or BECAUSE) they are WORTHY.
5. He that OVERCOMES, the SAME shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will NOT BLOT OUT his name out of the book of LIFE, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”
Revelation 21:5-9.
“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of LIFE freely.
7. He that OVERCOMES shall inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Revelation 22:14,15.
“Blessed are THEY that DO his COMMANDMENTS, (WHY? Why are ONLY THEY that DO or KEEP the COMMANDMENTS of God BLESSED?) THAT (Or so that or in order that) THEY (Speaking of ONLY those Christians who KEEP the COMMANDMENTS of God in order that they) may have RIGHT to the tree of life, (Or that they may have the RIGHT to receive their reward of ETERNAL LIFE in the world to come) and may ENTER in through the gates into the city.
15. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whore mongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loves and makes a lie.”
Please understand that the commandments here are speaking of the commandments under the New Covenant written in the New Testament and NOT the law of commandments CONTAINED in ORDINANCES that were abolished and nailed to the cross, according to Ephesians 2:8-15 and Colossians 2: 8-17. In other words, the commandments here are all the MORAL commandments of Almighty God the Father that are fulfilled by walking in LOVE toward one another.
So to ME, I do not see how anyone who is seeking the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God can HONESTLY say and teach that our final salvation of OBTAINING our reward of ETERNAL LIFE is UNCONDITIONAL and is based upon NOTHING we have done, are doing presently, and what we will do in the future. These doctrines of Calvinism, Reformed Theology, and extreme Grace Alone Christians are doctrines of devils and should be rejected by all Christians.
Now there are some Christians, who even after clearly seeing this mountain of evidence from the clear word of God, will CLING to what their church denomination teaches. In other words, they will cling to church tradition OVER the Bible itself that plainly teaches us that we must, without fail, be OBEDIENT to the leading of the Holy Spirit to follow after GOOD WORKS of RIGHTEOUSNESS in order to show our FAITH and be found worthy to have the RIGHT to obtain the reward of our HOPE and PROMISE of ETERNAL LIFE to those who LOVE Almighty God and His Son Jesus. They will still yet demand that salvation is NOT of WORKS lest any man should boast. Then they will quote a few verses like John 6:26-29, which says the following but they will only focus on verse 29.
John 6:26-29.
“Labor not for the meat which perishes, but for that meat which endures unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him has God the Father sealed.
28. Then said they unto him, What shall we DO, that we might WORK the WORKS of God?
29. Jesus answered and said unto them, THIS is the WORK of God, that you BELIEVE on him whom he has sent.”
Then they will interpret verse 29 OUT of its CONTEXT and apart from the REST of God’s word to contend that FAITH or BELIEVING on Jesus is ALL that is required to be saved and receive eternal life.
But as you have just seen in this study, this one verse is NOT the WHOLE word of God on this subject of what is REQUIRED or what CONDITIONS must be met in order to receive ETERNAL LIFE in the world to come. Jesus said in Matthew that only he who ENDURES UNTO THE END the SAME shall be SAVED. So again. I implore you to read the study“IS ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED BIBLICAL?”
There is much more that I can say, but for almost of all you who are reading this series of studies then what I have shown you thus far is more than enough for you to see the TRUTH of God's word that requires us to live godly before him in order to actually obtain ETERNAL LIFE in the world to come. And, therefore, this mountain of evidence from God’s word proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that this doctrine of UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION is a FALSE doctrine of devils.
This now brings us to the next letter in the acronym T.U.L.I.P. which is the letter “L” that stands for LIMITED ATONEMENT. Please keep in mind that even if ONE of these five points of Calvinism is shown to be FALSE then ALL five points are then proven to be false. And I believe that I have adequately shown that BOTH of the first two points as being FALSE teaching by the many contradictions that those two doctrines in Calvinism have with the WHOLE word of God. And in part 7 of this study on Calvinism, I will also clearly show that the doctrine of LIMITED ATONEMENT CONTRADICTS the WHOLE word of God. Once Christians, Jews, Muslims, and even atheists understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands.
And after you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels.
Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become “a” Lord, “a” King, and “a” God, under and subject to his God and Father in order to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
