How do I know which therapist is right for me?
Some of our therapists are currently accepting new clients!
How do I know which therapist is right for me?
Start with what's bringing you in. Amanda Carter works with children, teens, adults, and families — especially around trauma, anxiety, and parenting. Amanda Chaney supports adults and older adults with depression, relationships, and life transitions. Leslie Factor specializes in addiction, couples work, and mood disorders for teens and adults. Still not sure? Reach out to any of us — we'll happily point you to the best fit, even if it isn't us.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is simply a conversation. Your therapist will ask what's bringing you in, learn about your history and goals, and answer any questions you have. There's nothing to prepare and no pressure to share more than you're ready to. Most people leave feeling relieved that they started.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes — each of our therapists offers a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can get a feel for their style and ask questions before committing to anything.
How much does therapy cost, and do you take insurance?
Each therapist sets their own fees and is paneled with different insurance plans, so ask about your specific plan during your consultation. Self-pay is always an option, and we can provide documentation (a superbill) if you'd like to submit for out-of-network reimbursement.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. All three therapists offer secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions for clients anywhere in Colorado, as well as in-person sessions at our Centennial office. Many clients use a mix of both.
How long does therapy take?
It depends on your goals. Some people come for a few months to work through a specific challenge; others stay longer for deeper work. You and your therapist will revisit your goals regularly, and you're always in the driver's seat.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. What you discuss in therapy is protected by law, with a few exceptions your therapist will explain in your first session — such as risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult.
My child needs support. What does therapy look like for kids and teens?
Sessions are tailored to your child's age and often include parent/guardian involvement, because supporting the family helps the child most. You'll be kept in the loop while your child gets the private space they need to open up.
What if I'm in crisis right now?
Our practice isn't equipped for emergencies. If you or someone you love is in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), access https://www.988colorado.com, or call Colorado Crisis Services at 1-844-493-8255 — both are available 24/7. In an emergency, call 911.
