The G/T Framework dictates the expectation for each skill in a specific grade level.
The skills in the G/T curriculum can all be taught through integration with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. The documents linked below show opportunities in each of the four core subject areas to address skills correlated with the TEKS.
This letter will be sent out to by the G/T department to the parents of students currently identified to receive Gifted and Talented services to communicate the skills the student will be working on throughout the year.
The primary goal of this document is to ensure consistent communication between schools and families. The student progress monitoring report is being sent home by the teacher at the end of each semester to give more families insight on the goals, strengths and areas of growth for the student. Student progress is based on how they are performing holistically.
The Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted and Talented students requires all students identified for Gifted and Talented Services "participate in the Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP), or other experiences that result in the development of sophisticated products and/or performances that are targeted to an audience outside the classroom, are available through gifted/talented curricula."
Linked below are projects created by Gifted Guide and Texas Performance Standards Projects to support teachers in meeting the academic needs of their students identified for Gifted and Talented Services. Participation in the projects linked below is optional and may be used at teacher discretion.
