La Sierra Counseling Department Vision: 

The La Sierra School Counseling Program envisions a future where every student graduates high school thriving in college, career, and life. Our students will pursue meaningful educational, career, and personal goals while demonstrating the social/emotional and academic skills needed for success in college, career, and beyond. They will build positive relationships, confidently navigate challenges, make informed decisions, advocate for themselves, and contribute to their communities. Through a data driven comprehensive school counseling program and collaboration with educational partners, students will develop the skills needed for success in an ever-changing world. As they continue into adulthood, La Sierra students will be confident, capable, and resilient individuals who are proud of their growth, prepared for their next steps, and empowered to achieve their own version of success in life. 

La Sierra Counseling Department Mission: 

The mission of the La Sierra High School Counseling Program is to support the Alvord Unified School District's mission of delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program that promotes equity to remove barriers to learning, ensures access for all to rigorous academic, college, career, and enrichment opportunities, and promotes long-range academic, social/emotional, and college and career outcomes for every student.

Grounded in the values of Responsibility, Inspiration, Self-Awareness, and Engagement (RISE), we collaborate with families, educators, and community partners to cultivate a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment where every student develops the knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed to achieve success in their personal goals, their community, and to thrive in college/career with a lifetime of personal growth.
