Meet the Librarian!
Hi my name is Tracy Mathis and I am so excited to be your child's Librarian. I taught third grade for 8 years and I loved it. Before going to third grade I taught fifth grade for 10 years. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a CPA for 15 years. I went back to school because I didn't feel like I was making a difference. It is a change of career I have never regretted! The smiles on kid's faces when they "get it" totally motivates me every day! Four years ago the opportunity to become Walt Disney's librarian presented itself. The only catch was I had to go back to school to get my masters degree. So 40 years after entering college the first time, I went back! Proof that your are never too old to learn something new!

I grew up in Fort Worth, TX, and have lived in the Houston area for the last 39 years. The beach is my happy place, so I love living this close to the water. When I am not at school you might find me traveling the backroads of Texas with my camera. I have twin boys who are grown, married and both made me a very happy Mimi in January 2016! I now have 3 grandchildren and they are my greatest treasure. I am a huge baseball fan! Go Astros!
