Ms. Engineer
Hello Bearkats! My name is Nupur Engineer and I am so excited about this upcoming 2023-2024 school year at Shirley Brothers Elementary. I grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and have two loving parents and an amazing sister. My parents are from India and I grew up embracing the Indian & American cultures. I am fluent in 3 languages: Gujarati, Hindi, and of course English. :) Texas has been my home for the past 20 years and I love it here. However, I still miss the good ole Smokey Mountains. I am a proud graduate of University of Texas at Austin, with a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. "Hook'em Horns." I will be sharing my Longhorn pride with my students this year and my homeroom will be called "Engineer Longhorns."

Teaching has always been a strong passion of mine. I will be starting my 17th year of teaching and my sixth year in Alvin ISD. I taught my first 11 years in Alief ISD. I have taught grades 1st - 4th and one of my favorite experiences as a teacher was when I looped with my class from 1st grade and taught all the way until they completed 4th grade. I am the Math & Science teacher and the switch teacher is Mrs. Burroughs (RLA/SS). We love to collaborate and both of our homerooms work together as a 4th grade family.

My interest in music and dance are strong and have been part of my life since I was little. It brings me great joy to share my passion of dance with the Bearkat Blazers Dance Club. I lead the team as the dance coach and coordinator.

I believe the best learning happens when teacher, parent/guardian, and child are all working together as a team. Communication is the key to your child's success and I look forward to getting to know each of my students family. I will be using Class Dojo as a way to communicate daily. It's going to be a fabulous 2022-2023 school year! Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Class Dojo is a wonderful tool for communication. Please check "Class Stories" & "Messages" daily.
