Mrs. Mikell

Hello! My name is Tiara Mikell and I am excited about the journey ahead as we "level up" here at Rodeo Palms Junior High. As a theatre teacher, I'm on a mission to empower students to discover their voices, and use their voices for positive change.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication with a minor in Psychology from Texas Southern University, where I also became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I went on to pursue my Master's Degree in Social Work from The University of Houston with a clinical concentration and special interest in education and psychodrama. I married my college sweetheart & best friend, who is also an educator , and am blessed with 2 little "world changers" ages 7 and 4. Family is of the utmost importance to me, and I'm looking forward to adopting more children in my extended family. :-)

This is my 10th year in education as a teacher. Our classroom will be a safe space for children to express themselves, and build confidence using theatre as their platform. If you have any questions about your child's progress in the class, feel free to contact me!
