Mrs. Burroughs
I am a proud graduate of Texas Tech University, and one of my favorite pastimes is to cheer on my (occasionally unsuccessful) Red Raiders during football season. You can also say that I don't shy away from waving a "Terrible Towel" around when the Pittsburgh Steelers take the field. I contribute this enthusiasm to the fact that I happily married into this madness years ago. My husband and I love to travel and take on as many excursions as possible. I own the most adorable Goldendoodle on the planet... make that TWO now! I have a healthy obsession with llamas and alpacas. AND I absolutely love working in my yard and digging in the dirt. Planting season is my favorite time of year.
The 2025 school year will kick off 21 years of teaching 4th grade reading, language arts for Alvin ISD. I immediately fell in love with writing and watching my students grow into amazing young authors. What drives me most in this profession is that each year is a completely new adventure - with new young minds - to show me new ways of thinking - new ways of teaching and learning for all of us. I love being a Bearkat with this amazing team at Shirley Dill Brothers Elementary.
Education is ever changing, as we all have come to learn, and I too get to grow, learn, and change everyday along with my students and colleagues.
