“Doing your best is more important than being the best.” Shannon Miller

Pomona PE expectations

We want kids to take responsibility for what they say and do in our classes. The easiest way to check and make sure kids understand where they stand is to have them do a self assessment. It’s also a great tool for teachers to recognize when a student might have a lower self-perception than they should – this is a great opportunity for the teacher to have a conversation and encourage them.

We want all of our students to strive for a Gold Medal Day! We will have our students evaluate their performance for their days - did they do their best to be healthy, be safe and be kind? In thinking about this, they will decide whether or not they performed on a 1/Gold Medal Level doing their best, a 2/Silver Medal Level making a few mistakes along the way, or a 3/Bronze Medal Level - really not bringing their best to class and owning that. We believe in choices and consequences, growth mindsets, and fresh starts.
