I received an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and a Master’s Degree in Administration. I have been teaching for 25 years (in a homeschooled setting, in a private school district, and in the public school district). I am excited to be here!!!!!!
Course Description
Science is the study of the world around you through observation and experimental investigations. In Science, we will be studying matter, energy, atoms, and more. In addition, we will spend time in the laboratory with emphasis on safety, scientific processes and developing critical thinking skills. Everything in science class is geared to preparing the students for success in future courses and life.
Supplies
Bring the following supplies to class every day. We will not use each of these supplies every day, but you need to have them all!

Notebook paper
Markers and/or Map Pencils
Glue sticks or taps
Pen and pencil
Devices
We will be following the No Cell Phone Policy here at the school. NOT SEEN, NOT HEARD, NOT TAKEN. If a student chooses to not follow this rule the I will give the parent a call and the parent would then have to come and pay the fine to retrieve the device.

Textbooks
Each student will be able to access a textbook through an online resource this year. We will be using them sporadically in the classroom but will be a great source to help the students to study for a test.
Interactive Notebook (Composition Book)
A science interactive notebook will be due at the end of every nine weeks period. The purpose for this notebook is to teach you to be organized by keeping your work, labs and notes in order. Keep everything!! This is also a place for you to record your grades, this means at any time you can average your own score. Work will accumulate in the notebook until the end of the nine weeks in order for you to review for tests.
Grading Policy
Grade Categories as set by the district.....
20% Daily Work/Class Work/ Quizzes
40% Labs/ Lab Write Ups
40% Major Exams/ Major Projects
Homework
Homework will be at the discretion of the teacher to assist in the learning process. It will consist of quick practice problems or reviewing information in class. It should not take more than 15 minutes.
Guidelines for Make-Up Work
Students are responsible for getting their missed work from absences. All worksheets are available in the classroom or found on google classroom, and ask a buddy for any missed notes. Quizzes, tests and labs will have to be made up before or after school. See me to schedule an appointment.
Late Work
If you do not have the work with you on the day it is due, it will be considered late. You will not be able to earn 100 points on a perfect assignment.
Guidelines for behavior
1. Be in your assigned seat, ready to work when the bell rings.
2. Have notebook, paper, pencil and homework every day.
3. HFBO—Keep Hands, feet, books and objects to yourself.
4. No Bullying, Profanity, rude gestures, cruel teasing or put downs are not permitted.
5. Follow directions of any adult working at this school.
You will be in your assigned seat, quietly working on the warm-up when the bell rings. Please don’t move the chairs to different tables and keep all four chair legs on the floor. Use the restroom on your way to class; passes during class are for emergencies only. You will be expected to treat the lab and lab equipment safely and with respect. If we all have respect for each other and the lab, we will have a fantastic year!
To better meet the needs of all students, this course outline can be modified at the teachers’ discretion.
