About Me

Hello my Maverick Family!

I am super excited to be be teaching at Manvel High School (MHS) this school year where we Hoka Hey EVERYDAY to serve the students' educational needs daily! I am going into my 6th year of teaching high Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering at MHS.

Every year has had it's share of challenges and this year is no different but we will get through them BETTER TOGETHER; in which this is our theme for this uncharted school year. For the 2020-2021 school year, I have the pleasure of teaching Introduction to Engineering Design (IED) and Engineering Design & Development (EDD).

I am a proud native of Houston, Texas where I graduated Alief Hastings High School. I've obtained my Associates Degree from Trinity Valley Community College in Athen, TX; B.S. in Business Administration from Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, MS and M.B.A. from Liberty University. I met my wife, Crystal Smith (an AHS Educator) in Mississippi and we have been married for 16 years with two beautiful children - Jacob, 19 and Christina, 13.

Before moving back to Texas in 2014, we resided in Maryland for 10+ years where I worked for the Department of Navy as an Program Analyst and Contracts Specialist.

I am super excited for the opportunity to teach your children and hopeful that we, working as a collaborative team, can ensure ALL our students achieve success!
