About Me

Hello my Maverick Family!

I am super excited to be teaching at Manvel High School (MHS) this school year where we Hoka Hey EVERYDAY and serve the educational needs of our students! I am going into my 8th year of teaching the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering programs of study at MHS.

Every year has had its share of challenges and this year is no different but we will get through them as "WE ARE MANVEL"; which is our 2022 theme for this school year. For the 2022-2023 school year, I have the pleasure of teaching Introduction to Engineering Design (IED), Civil Engineering & Architecture (CEA), and Engineering Design & Development (EDD).

I am a proud native of Houston, Texas where I graduated from Alief Hastings High School. I have obtained my Associate's Degree from Trinity Valley Community College in Athen, TX; B.S. in Business Administration from Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, MS and M.B.A. from Liberty University. I met my wife, Crystal Smith (MHS Math Educator) in Mississippi, and we have been married for 18 years with two beautiful children - Jacob, 21, and Christina, 14.

Before moving back to Texas in 2014, we resided in Maryland for 10+ years where I worked for the Department of Navy (DoN) as a Program Analyst and Contracts Specialist.

I am looking forward to pouring into and teaching your child(ren) and very hopeful that we, working as a collaborative team will result in achieved success for our students!
