Mrs. Andrea McDaniel has been teaching Humanities here at Rodeo Palms Junior High since the fall of 2019. She was born and raised in Houston, TX, attending Houston ISD schools from elementary to high school. In 2003, she graduated from Dillard University in New Orleans, LA with a BA in Business Management. Her career in education began in 2007 with Houston ISD, and she later obtained her teacher certification in 2009. Since then, she has worked with 5th to 8th graders, teaching ELAR, social studies, and science.
Mrs. McDaniel has had previous leadership roles as a Cluster Leader and ELA Department chair from 2016-2018 while at Houston ISD. Her strength as an ELAR teacher has been enhanced through Abydos and Writers in the Schools (WITS). She has also obtained training certifications and adopted strategies from Gretchen Bernabei, Jeff Anderson, and Barry Lane, the country's top literacy educators.
