My name is Barbara Allen. I am starting my 23rd year here at AHS. I have only every taught here because I believe in my school and community. I am currently teaching English 4 and English 2. In the past, I have help the school by coaching cheer, debate, UIL Academics of all sorts, coaching Powder Puff, and sponsoring numerous clubs. I have taught every grade level of English, Multicultural Lit, and the SAT Prep class. I also had the pleasure of working as one of the librarians for AHS for 10 years before going back to the classroom a few years ago. I have an Associate's Degree from ACC, a Bachelor's in English from U of H Main, and a Master's in School Library/Information Science from UHCL. I am certified to teach English, ESL, journalism, speech, history, and be a school librarian.

I graduated from this very school in 1995. I love our "little" community. I am the mother of 4 amazing kids. I have a 19 year old Marine, a 15 year old sophomore, and twin 4th graders. I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 1998. I was born and raised here in town. I have raised my children here as well.
