  • I am currently enrolled in a doctoral program, focusing on developing and implementing methods to assess the impact of climate change on biological communities using large-scale open data. My study work is independent from the company activities where I work now.

Work Experience (as full-time)

• Apr 2023 - Sep 2023: Sumitomo Forestry Co., Ltd. (Head office)

  • I joined Sumitomo Forestry, Japan’s largest forest management company as my first career. The company operates a wide range of businesses related to wood, including forestry, timber trading, processing, housing, and energy. I was initially assigned to the Forest Management Division at the headquarters, where I managed subsidiary operations and accounting while also conducting market research aimed at decarbonization. Through these experiences, I strengthened my ability to communicate with people from diverse countries (primarily in English) and enhanced my foundational business skills in accounting, finance, and corporate strategy.

• Oct 2023 - Now: PT. Wana Subur Lestari (Subsidiary of Sumitomo Forestry Co., Ltd. in Indonesia)

  • After two and a half years with the company, I was assigned to a position in Indonesia, where I led and trained national staff in implementing sustainable forest management. My responsibilities include managing silvicultural improvement projects aimed at increasing timber productivity, developing monitoring methods to assess environmental impacts, and planning forest operations. As English is not commonly used, I learned Indonesian from scratch and worked closely with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds to achieve shared goals. Through this role, I have strengthened my skills in fieldwork, Indonesian language proficiency, cross-cultural communication, project management, and data analysis.
