PI: Dr. Pankaj Yadav.
I have completed my PhD from the Department of biological sciences and engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, India (IITGn) with Prof. Dhiraj Bhatia. My PhD thesis was on "Programmable carbon nanoparticles for targeted bioimaging and therapeutics." I have also had the wonderful opportunity as an overseas research fellow at Center for engineered therapeutics, at Brigham women's hospital and Harvard medical school, in Department of medicine, Boston, USA, with Prof. Shiladitya Sengupta and Prof. Haelin Jang from August 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.
My research focusses on carbon based nanomaterials, for cancer and neurodegenerative therapeutics. We surface modified carbon nanoparticles using lipid and dopamine for cancer and neurodegenerative therapeutics. To commercialize the research I was awarded the DST (Department of science and Technology Government of India) Nidhi Prayas start-up seed grant to start a company (Qnanosol Biotech Private limited). As an overseas fellow, I worked on cancer immunotherapy in which I studied the protein-protein interaction between the exocysts complex involved in the transfer of mitochondria from immune cells to cancer cells.
