Event
The Global Exchange Program
This program, planned by Altia Central Co., Ltd. and organized by the Kyoto Prefectural Board of Education, aims to increase high school students' interest in studying abroad. This is a completely new aim for a similar event held in previous years, to boost the image of global exchange programs and lower the hurdle of challenging a longer stay in a foreign country.
We’re looking for volunteers to support high school students from Kyoto Prefecture, share their experience as international students themselves, engage in role plays, and connect with international instructors and students.

Dates: Monday, August 3rd, 2026 ~ Thursday, August 6th, 2026
Times:
Day 1 - 12:00 ~ 17:00
Day 2 - 9:00 ~ 17:00
Day 3 - 9:00 ~ 17:00
Day 4 - 9:00 ~ 15:00
Target Audience: Japanese high school students
A Course - Discover Your World
For students who are interested in the world but don't know whether an exchange program is the right choice for them.
Interact with high school students of different ages sharing their personal passion and support them in connecting this to the benefits of going abroad.
Interested in cars? Maybe visit Germany or Italy.
An animal enthusiast who wants to work at a zoo? Maybe spend some time in Zimbabwe or Brazil.
You can share your own reason for becoming an exchange student and global citizen and motivate them to look beyond their borders.
B Course - Challenge Going Abroad
For student who want to go abroad but are lacking the conviction to take the final step into making it reality.
Support high school students of different ages by sharing your own experiences and help them build strategies for encountering new norms and everyday hurdles.
How do you ask for help and directions if you are still learning a language? How do you develop a relationship with a host family and local peers? What can you do if you committed a cultural faux pas?
You will be a source of information and inspiration for them and motivate them to become exchange students themselves.
