ACADEMY

To collaborate with the Lockdown Economy on an educational program for your organization - get in touch.

Some time will pass before there will be new books published and new university courses designed that reflect the current situation, show how to adapt to it and overcome the challenges of the post-COVID world, incl. social distancing, lockdowns and quarantine, etc.

How to build continuity plans? How to do crisis and post-crisis management? How to reinvent your value proposition? How to survive and keep creating? How to be an entrepreneur today? How to prepare for “what if” scenarios?

This initiative gives us unique educational materials and access to concrete cases which could be used along with Harvard, KPMG, McKinsey and other business cases. By integrating lessons from multiple countries on several continents, we provide a comprehensive overview of how one can proceed in entrepreneurship in the new world.

MBA course: Lockdown Economy Challenge

Thank you to PhD Alejandro Kantun, Gloria De Leon, Shayonti Chaterji, Dannie-Lu Carr, Massimo Mercuri, Julia Skupchenko and MBA students of the Anahuac Mayab for participating. Thank you to Ryan Mitchell for the wonderful work done on putting this documentary together!

Together with the Anahuac Mayab University in Mexico, in August 2020 we hosted the pilot of the Academy. It was a 3-weeks MBA course based on the information provided in the Lockdown Economy. Five small-business owners featured in the Lockdown Economy interviews were paired up with five teams of students to address the real business problems of the COVID-19. During three weeks, students worked together with experts to design a new approach and how to implement it. They had multiple conversations to do a reality check and align. It went as far as students actually having to test the ideas they were proposing with the local government and universities. We have seen a very positive reaction both from students and business owners. It was an alternative way to learn and the exposure they got to international business is priceless for their future.

ACADEMY

The Academy provides real-time education materials about entrepreneurship during the lockdown and pandemic to entrepreneurs and students worldwide.

Joined by our partner universities the Lockdown Economy team is designing educational programs that are based on real case studies from the lockdown. Once ready, they will be published as online courses on the leading learning platform where millions of students worldwide will get access to them. These materials to be distributed across various geographies, different levels of education and age groups.

For students participating in the Academy it is an opportunity to be exposed to multicultural business mindsets and languages; to see the best practices of design thinking, agile and business development in action. It allows them to take a leading role in creating an innovative solution to meet the needs of society during these unprecedented times.

For entrepreneurs involved in the Academy, it is an opportunity to address a complex challenge of their business and involve a group of students in solving it; a chance to have an outside look at their business model and how the operations are run. Often sole entrepreneurs simply do not have the capacity to take care of everything so this collaboration will provide them with extra pairs of hands and minds to address it.

The next horizon for the initiative is to create and develop learning and training materials based on the Lockdown Economy to prepare entrepreneurs and students to pandemic and post-pandemic changes and enable building the new green, digital and sustainable economy. It will be done "by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs" in micro-modules that they can cover in a couple of hours depending on what problem they have.
