Mrs. Radke

“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.”

Margaret Mead

My name is Jen Radke and I am in my fourteenth year teaching high school English for the Alta-Aurelia Community School District. Along with teaching, I am also the district's Curriculum Development Leader. I am happy to be a part of such a wonderful educational community at Alta-Aurelia and look forward to creating new and wonderful experiences for my students. I spend a lot of time reflecting on the choices I make for my classroom and researching new educational issues. In 2013 I received my Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction through Wayne State College. I believe this program has made me a better teacher by opening my eyes to new practices, studies, and learning styles. When I'm not busy with school, you may find me spending time with friends and family, cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones, or curled up with a good book. My husband, Ryan, and I have three children: Lila, Mae, and Walter.
