ALS Member Libraries

Several area public libraries worked together to help establish the Arrowhead Library System as a “regional public library system” in the early 1960s. Fifty years later, ALS is proud to have 27 public libraries in seven counties as our members.

In 2012, the Minnesota Department of Education designated the Arrowhead Library System to also serve as the “multicounty, multitype library cooperation system” for northeastern Minnesota. This new designation enables ALS to work with libraries of all “types” across the region including libraries in K-12 schools, colleges and universities, and other institutions such as museums, hospitals, and governmental agencies.

Chances are that there is a member library near you!
