Emergency Sub Plans (Lesson plans are on the website under Lessons)
Good Morning,
You can use computer #30 Just login to the Guest account.
USERNAME: 256s
PASSWORD: abcd1234
If you would like to demonstrate on computer #31 you can. You will need to turn on the projector with the remote on the computer.
Everything we do is on the TRE computer lab website or in Google Classroom.
Click on Google Chrome and the website is bookmarked.
There is a folder on the back counter with seating charts for each day and class. Please have students sit in their assigned seats. You can assign any new students.
Each class will need to sanitize their hands when they come in.
There are name tags for each class on the bookshelves in the back of the room. The name tags have the students username and passwords on the back for the younger classes. Put the name tags for each class on the end of each computer row according to the color coding. The student on the end takes the tag and passes the rest down the row. Collect name tags at the end of class.
Hand out a hand from the orange beach bucket next to the printer to each class at the end if they earn it. Please put a little magnet hand on the white board under the teacher’s name (Explained under Classroom management).

Troubleshooting:
If there are any problems today with websites or assignments I have assigned, it is fine to just have them do some keyboarding and free time on the website!
Locked screen: Students click on Lock Screen instead of Log Out. The computer will need to be shut down and restarted. Unless it is 1st grader that locked it, then just put in the password. (This seems to be happening a lot this year, lock is next to log out).
Mouse or Keyboard will sometimes stop working: Unplug the mouse and keyboard on the back of the computer and plug it back in. If this doesn’t fix it, turn the computer off and on or move them.
Computer Frozen: If it has a spinning wheel you can force quit the program: Click on the apple, force quit and then the program. If it doesn’t allow you to click on anything, Turn computer all the way off and turn it back on.
Lost internet: The blue cord by their feet may have been kicked. Plug it back in.
Not able to log in: You can try it….check caps lock or any spaces in username. If it is still not working they can try the Guest account or move to another computer.
Internet down in whole school: They can type a poem in Word. (In the file drawer)
Helpful Hints about the computers:
There is a bookmark for the website on each computer that will get them back to the website. If it doesn’t TRE computer lab website address is
https://sites.google.com/alpinedistrict.org/thunderridge-computer-lab
If a website isn’t working correctly try reloading the site.
The back button will get you back to a previous website
Do not let the students put the headphones around their neck. This is a super germ spreader since they are next to their nose and mouth.
**Management: Each class can earn a hand for Specialty. They are in the orange sand bucket by the printer.
WAYS TO EARN A HAND:
Quietly enter and exit.
Respect the teacher and other students.
Work hard.
This is a whole class behavior, one or two students acting up should not ruin it for the class.
Coming In
Greet each class at the door and invite them in. Remind them to quietly come in, sit down at the computer and login.
Leaving
2-3 minutes before dismissing students, have them log off the computer, pass name tags to the end of the row.
Then have them stand up and push in their chair quietly. Excuse each row to line up on the dots according to who is ready first and quiet.
The next class teacher will take them back to class.
Bathroom/Drinks
One person out at a time. Bathroom tag by the door and I don’t require them to ask. They can NOT go when I am teaching or if someone else is already gone.
Classroom Expectations
Be respectful
Follow Directions First Time
Only be on approved sites
No Food or Drink in the lab
Students must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Rewards/Consequences
Taking a student off of the computer and having them sit quietly for 5 minutes helps if they are being very disrespectful or not listening after I have warned them.
Having them earn 5-10 minutes at the end of class to choose an activity on my website is very motivating to them.
Each class earns a free day throughout the rotation. If they are respectful, listen, work hard and finish all of their assignments they earn this for the last day of the rotation. Please leave me a note if there are problems.
Printing
Unless given permission students are not allowed to print.
