Orem High Baseball
Longtime Orem High baseball coach Carl Hermanson has decided to step away as head coach of the Tigers after 12 years. In Hermanson's 12 years the Tigers made the final eight 8 times, final four 5 times and was state runner up in 2016. Orem High baseball is better because of Coach Herm!
Orem High would like to introduce our new head baseball coach Daniel Lopez.
My name is Daniel Lopez, and I’m originally from Visalia, California. where I played baseball and began my coaching career, working with athletes at the youth and high school levels. In 2016, I moved to Utah and started coaching at Maple Mountain High School, where I was fortunate to help lead the team to a state championship appearance. I later joined the coaching staff at Salem Hills High School, where we earned consistent top-five finishes and continued to build a strong program.
Alongside my high school coaching experience, I’ve had the opportunity to coach on various Scout Teams, helping student-athletes develop their skills and earn opportunities to play at the collegiate level. Developing players both on and off the field is something I’m passionate about, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of their journeys.
I’m married to my amazing wife, Kennedy, and we have three wonderful kids—Dax (6), who loves baseball, never misses a game, and is excited to be a Tiger, Hazel (4), and Cruz (10 months). We live in Spanish Fork and are thrilled to be part of the Orem community. I’m honored to lead the Orem High School baseball program and excited for what’s ahead as we continue to build a strong, competitive, and character-driven championship program.
Orem Athletics mission is to create a culture of excellence and operate in an atmosphere in which expectations and high standards are driving factors in our success. These standards of expectation will act as guidelines as we work toward achieving our program, team, and individual goals. These standards reflect the philosophy of the Orem High School Athletics, administration and the school vision. A student-athlete at Orem High ought to hold themselves and others to a higher standard of success and accountability.
"Orem High's athletic program will promote interscholastic and education based-athletics that provide lifelong learning experiences to student-athletes while enhancing their achievement of educational goals."
Our goal is to teach the values of teamwork, pride, respect, commitment, work ethic, sportsmanship and development of the proper winning attitude. It is our hope that through the athletic process our student athletes will adopt these guidelines and develop a positive winning attitude that will carry over into all aspects of their lives.
