I have rights! you think to yourself as the judge stares at you waiting for your response. You decide that you aren't going to cooperate with the judge at all! You aren't going to say anything or do anything.
The two of you stare at each other for a long time. He asks you several more times what you have to say for yourself.
When it is obvious that you aren't going to be helpful in any way. The judge turns to you and informs you that if you will not talk you will be punished like Giles Corey was. You have heard that name before - you heard him mentioned while you were in jail.
You are suddenly filled with dread as you remember what happened to Giles Corey.
He was placed on the ground between two doors. Heavy rocks were piled on him until he died.
The judge leaves and you are dragged into a lonely jail cell to wait until you are squished.
Maybe deciding to be silent wasn't such a great option after all...
As you are sitting there in jail waiting to be pressed to death, there is a loud bang and the time-traveling car suddenly appears!
"Get in!" the car growls as it revs its engine and opens its doors. You jump inside as the doors slam closed. The swirling tunnel of lights appears and you watch the years go slowly forward towards the present day.
You are so grateful to not end up being squished to death that you are no longer angry with the car for abandoning you in 1692. In fact, as you look out the car windows at the swirling stars, you start to feel very tired. Before you know it, you are fast asleep.
