Mr. Goff's Class
We re-wrote a couple verses of "On top of the World" by Imagine Dragons to reflect things the kids learned while doing their "Around the World" projects. Some came from reports about things like: hunting around the world, cars, languages, flags, sports, and more.
One hundred sixty-five flags
Better tell them why “hi-choo”
If you see a buck, you go “bang bang”
Soccer is the most famous
Head to Japan for some sushi
Italy has some super cars
Head to Spain for some fried milk
Most used is the US Dollar
Watch out for those komodo dragons
If you see the elk then shoot him down,
‘Cause we’re all over the world, eh
We’re all over the world, eh
Researching stuff for a while now
Paying our dues to the work
We’ve been painstakingly try-ing
To get a good grade and surviving
We’ve been staying up late, now
Hope we all get a good grade
‘Cause we’ve been all over the world
In our 3rd Rotation, we reviewed the poem "Invictus" by William Ernest Henley, which they previously learned in Culture Connections. We learned some new rhythm notes and then made a song out of it! (The audio recording is at the bottom of the sheet music below):
