Checking Out Books
You may check out up to 3 books at a time.
You may check books out for 2 weeks at a time.
Books may be renewed for another 2 weeks, as long as they aren't on hold for other students.
There are no late fees. However, books that are not returned in a timely manner will be marked lost, and you will be responsible to pay the replacement cost.
The cost to replace lost or damaged books varies. Talk to the librarian if your book is lost or damaged.
Checking Out Ebooks and Audiobooks
Go to soraapp.com or download the SORA app on your device.
Enter the setup code ALPINEUT.
Find your school (Orem Jr. High School).
Sign in with your student ID.
Search for specific titles by clicking on the magnifying glass, or browse by topics.
Click on "Preferences" to choose Spanish books, if you prefer.
If a title says "Borrow" then it is available to be checked out. If it says "Place Hold" then you will have to wait until the current user is done with the book before you can check it out.
Borrowed ebooks and audiobooks will be automatically returned after 2 weeks.
If a title is not available, or if the wait time is longer than a month, talk the the librarian. We may be able to add additional copies or titles.
Checking Out Maker Kits
The library has several maker kits that students can check out to work on arts and crafts projects at home. Here are the guidelines for using the maker kits.
You may only check out 1 kit at a time.
Use only what you need to complete your project. Let the librarian know if the materials in the kit need to be restocked.
Kits are checked out for 1 week at a time.
Kits can be renewed for 1 more week if they are not on hold for another student.

Online Research Databases
Visit Utah's Online library for free access to World Book Encyclopedia, CultureGrams, and other academic research databases. Ask the librarian for this year's username and password.
Collection Policy
Alpine School District has an official policy (Policy 6161) which guides the selection of instructional materials, including books in the library collection.
