DRAMA FOUNDATIONS  (7th Grade) 

This course is made for those who are interested in having fun! Through the class students will get out of their comfort zone through acting and performance activities! It is a great class to make new friends and collaborate on projects together!  

DRAMA 1  (8th/9th Grade, 7th graders MUST take Foundations first)

This course is made for those who already have some introduction to Drama and Theater or those who crave to learn more about it! The course is an intermediate study of Acting & Performance skills. 

THEATRE PRODUCTIONS  (8th/9th Grade) 

Audition Required -  Auditions are held in Feb/March for the following Fall. See Upcoming Auditions . 

AKA Theatre Company! This course is the advanced Acting and Performing class offered at Orem Jr. Students should already have some knowledge and background in Drama before taking this course. Students will have the opportunity to perform their skills in an after-school play on the auditorium stage! Some after school rehearsals required.

STAGECRAFT (All Grades)

This class is an introduction to technical theatre! Students will learn all about the behind-the-scenes work that goes into designing and creating a stage production. Topics include sound/music, costumes, set design, props, and more! This is a fun hands-on class to make new friends and collaborate on projects together!

STAGE CREW  (8th/9th Grade)

Application Required - Applications can be filled out in Feb/March for the following Fall. See Upcoming Auditions . Must take Stagecraft first.

A specialized group of students that operate the technical aspects of any event in the auditorium, such as: Assemblies, Concerts, Building Rentals, and Plays. Students must be trained and willing to operate technical equipment such as the Sound Board, Light Board, Spot Lights, and Backstage Curtains without direct supervision. They will help build and run ALL of our school productions! 

Through the course, students will explore different areas of Theatrical Design and be trained on equipment to further study the practical implementation of theatrical designs. 

MUSICAL THEATRE  (ALL Grades,  must have taken a Drama or Choir class first. Class is repeatable!)

No audition required!

Students enrolled in Musical Theatre will automatically be cast in OJHS's Musical! Specific roles will be determined through in-class auditions. 

This course will focus on building on the skills of Rehearsal, and Performance in a production. Students will develop techniques specific to Musical Theatre performance with full after-school production that performs in April!
