What We Are Learning
Reading: We are reading stories that help us learn features of different animal habitats. We are learning to make predictions by making a reasonable guess about might happen or what they might learn in their reading.
Math: We are practicing double digit subtraction using a variety of strategies.
Writing: We are working on researching and writing animal reports.
Homework: The only homework second graders have is reading 20 minutes a night. They can do Lexia instead of reading a couple nights a week. In fact, they will be unable to enjoy Fun Friday if all their work is not complete including their Lexia minutes. Every week I will send home a link for you to fill out regarding your child’s reading for the week. Please fill out and return by Friday. I will also send home pages your child can complete that accompanies the math we are doing. This is optional. This week it’s Go Math! Pgs. 115, 117, 119, 121, and 121.
Other:
Picture Day is tomorrow. The form went home last week.
Typing: I need a couple of parents who would be willing to type up some poems we wrote.

Halloween Parade: On October 31st beginning at 9:30. Parents will sit on chairs in the cafeteria.
Our class party will be right after the parade.
