David Shannon is a funny guy as you can see from the expression on his face in this photo. At the age of five, he wrote and illustrated his first book. On every page were pictures of David doing things he was not supposed to do — and these words: No, David! — the only words he knew how to spell! Many years later, when his mother sent him that book, Shannon was inspired to write and illustrate his now-classic bestseller and Caldecott Honor Book No, David! You can hear David reading this book on instagram @nodavid2018
When I met him his book signing line was very long! That's because he personalized every single book signed and with a drawing! Do frogs really turn into fairies?
Here's an interview of him telling about his inspiration to become an artist. Check out his book of A Bad Case of Stripes read on Storyline.
When I meet authors I snap a photo.
I've always wanted to do something with the photos I've taken. This might be the perfect time to share.
When I meet authors it changes that way I read their books. I learn another story...their story.
I learn the parts of their hearts that made them want to become an author. I hear the story behind why they chose to write a particular book, including their research.
Jennifer Nielson is a great writer that makes me want to never put the book down until I'm finished. She is the author who made me want to read all three books in "The Ascendance Triology." The False Prince, The Runaway King, and The Shadow Throne. And then she wrote more "The Captive Kingdom, and "The Shattered Kingdom....readers couldn't put them down and wanted more!
"A Night Divided" is a story of how family's life changed overnight.
Our lives changed practically overnight too because of COVID-19, school being dismissed and now Online Learning!
