This history is going to be a mix of actual historical facts, and things that you have decided to make up about your colony. You will type this history as a Google Doc. It should not be written as bullet points - it needs to include the following:

• Explain how your colony got its name and tell me a little about the first governor of your colony - you will make this part up

• Tell me the year that your colony was created - this must be after 1620 (when the Pilgrims arrived) and no later than 1699 - you will make this part up

• Describe the resources of your colony - use your map to help you with this part - be specific!

• Tell me about the basic GEOGRAPHY of your colonial area - Look back at page 1 of your British Colony Simulation packet for help with this - THIS WILL HELP YOU ON OUR TEST!

• Tell me what your colony is like SOCIALLY - this will be influenced by your major colonial area, but your individual area might have some specific things to include here - Look back at page 1 of your British Colony Simulation packet for help with this - THIS WILL HELP YOU ON OUR TEST!

• Tell me what your colony is like POLITICALLY - this will be influenced by your major colonial area, but your individual area might have some specific things to include here - Look back at page 1 of your British Colony Simulation packet for help with this - THIS WILL HELP YOU ON OUR TEST!

• Tell me what RELIGION is like in your colony - this will be influenced by your major colonial area, but your individual area might have some specific things to include here - Look back at page 1 of your British Colony Simulation packet for help with this - THIS WILL HELP YOU ON OUR TEST!

• NEIGHBORS Each colonial area has a group we studied who settled there: 

  • New England = Pilgrims/Separatists and/or Puritans

  • Middle = Quakers

  • Southern = Jamestown/The Virginia Company. 

  • Tell me a little about the group that is in your area, including why they came to America. Include this as part of your colony’s history. Tell me how your colony interacts with them - THIS WILL HELP YOU ON OUR TEST!
