Newbery Reader Award

You can earn the Newbery Reader Award at Alpine Elementary by reading 50 Newbery award winning books while you are in the 4th-6th grades. You must read at least 25 of the books before 6th grade. A list of eligible books is available here and in the library. You can read the book yourself, your teacher or parent can read it to you, and you can listen to a few audiobooks as well. Complete this book report form within one month of reading the book.  You will be required to answer a few questions to verify you have read the book.  

All books must be read and reports completed by Friday, May 1, 2026 by midnight. At the awards assembly in May, all students who have earned this award will be recognized with a trophy and $50. They will also have their name placed on a plaque displayed in the library.
