About  this Class:

Lower  Middle School students have the chance to participate in two different art classes once a week for a trimester. There are seven different Pathways teachers instructing students in a variety of art forms: Music, Drama, Dance, and Visual Art.

 In Ms. Kuzma's Dance Class we explored the basics of Musical Theater from movement warm ups, to across the floor combinations, to group combinations inspired by different musicals. Students had the chance to learn about different styles of musical theater dance and were able to put it into a larger context of a famous musical or musical composition. Students had the chance to work individually, developing the craft of movement in their own body, as well as in a group with other dancers to make  large performance piece. 

We used the 8 Studio Habits of Mind to ignite our learning and dive deeper into self reflection and conversation.
