You can listen to the story on the second reading. After reading the story three times, there are questions to answer and a writing activity. There are no answers on the website. Perhaps you can email them to someone at your program.

The stories are about different countries and science research. The vocabulary in some of the stories may be new to you. Listen to the recordings and see if you can understand the new words from the story. See if you can find them in the text. Try to look them up in. a dictionary. Here is an online learners dictionary: www.learnersdictionary.com Type the word in the box at the top and click return.

In Interactive Reading Practice, one of the Life authors, Helen Stephenson, has written reading texts based on articles from National Geographic Magazine. The reading texts are followed by interactive reading comprehension activities, a recording of the text to listen to online, a supplementary grammar and vocabulary practice worksheet based on the text, and links to National Geographic images and videos for users to explore the topics further. Each Interactive Reading Practice is provided in three different versions: Beginner/Elementary, Pre-int/Intermediate, and Upper Intermediate/Advanced.
