Sign in to your Google account.
Go to My maps - https://www.google.com/maps/about/mymaps/
Give it a title.
Choose the Base map
This the kind of map you want – I chose Whitewater because it has the street names, but the attractions and landmarks are muted.
Add an address in the search bar and click on "Add to map" when the place opens on your map
or find the place and click on the marker icon under the search bar to place a marker on the place.
Click on the name of the place in the list to edit it.
Choose the pencil to edit name and add a description - this is where you can add narrative pieces to your story. You can also add photos to enhance your story.
Choose the paint can to edit the icon. You can choose from the list of icons or add new ones.
You can drag items up and down the list or into different layers.
When you are ready, edit access to your map. This is where you decide who can see your map.
