SNAPSHOTS OF THE WEEK!! : The title for these snapshots of the week is, "Wilson Community School on the Weekend." This was a fun and very eventful weekend! It is always a pleasure to see staff and students in other places besides school!

NEEDED: Reading Corps Interventionist

Wilson Community Schools was granted an additional Reading Corps interventionist!! We need your help in finding someone that would love to support our students and help them gain the confidence and skills needed to succeed. We’re looking for one reading interventionist to serve Kindergarten – 3rd grade students for the rest of the 2021-22 school year at Wilson Community School. Become an interventionist and help students be more. Visit mieducationcorps.org for more information and apply to serve with Michigan Education Corps K-3 Reading Corps.

Next Popcorn Sale Is:

Next popcorn sale will be Thursday, January 13th. $1.00 a bag limit 2. Proceeds from each popcorn sale supports activities at Wilson Community Schools! Thank you for your support!

REMINDER: SEND YOUR STUDENTS TO SCHOOL WITH WARM CLOTHES

It is important that students are prepared each day for the Northern Michigan weather. Each day students go outside for a 25 minute recess. Families are encouraged to monitor their children’s clothing selections to make sure they are appropriately dressed for chilly and/or cold weather.

PAWS TICKETS Winners are announced on Mondays! The next PAWS Ticket winner will be announced on Monday, January 10th and PAWS Pupil/ticket will be Tuesday, January 18th. They will receive a PAWS Certificate and a very appreciative bag of goodies from our PAC!

March Is Reading Month

Planning has started for March is Reading month. Our theme is going to be folktales, fairy tales, and fables. We would love to have assistance in making Wilson Community School look like a castle!! If you would like to help with making some decorations or have some ideas please reach out.


Wishlist For March Is Reading Month

This week in your child's Friday Folder there will be a two sided form asking if you are interested in creating school décor or help decorate for March Is Reading Month on the weekend of February 26th or 27th. As soon as the forms are returned someone from Wilson will reaching out with additional information. If you are unable to help with decorating but would like to support in another way we have some other options for books or decoration/supply sponsors. The books sponsor donations would help each student that reached their reading goal get a book to take home and the decoration/supply sponsors would help support with March is Reading Month items. Listed below we have compiled some decorations and supplies that can be purchased. If you would like to purchase or donate any items from the Amazon cart please feel free to order them and then remove them from the cart so we do not get several copies of the items.
