Lisa Johnson
knitter, crocheter, spinner, instructor
An avid knitter, crocheter and spinner, Lisa has one earthly pleasure aside from enjoying her grandchildren and that is knitting. She learned to knit and crochet at her mother's knee as a little girl of about age 7. She delights in teaching both of her only grandchildren, ages 8 and 5 the craft. They are good listeners and have caught on speedily. Lisa is an only child and her mother would often quip "all you do is eat, sleep & knit".
These days Lisa has taken her love of all things fiber to the next level by offering a space for fiber enthusiasts to explore the endless possibilities created by manipulating very long strands with loops, twists & turns. Her experience living in Hawai'i some years ago inspired the name Aloha Knitting Studio.
She often gives of her time and talent to teach knitting & crocheting to women's groups and ministries like The Welcome Church under the guidance of Pastors Schaunel Steinnagel and Violet Little. She encourages all to visit and browse the space, sit for a lesson, stitch for charity (free yarn provided) or purchase a handstitched garment or accessory for a loved one. Aloha Knitting Studio started with a dream that was nurtured by the prayers and support of Lisa's family, church, colleagues, friends & neighbors.
A sentiment from Lisa's heart:
In honor of God who has given me my talent and my parents who encouraged me to use it well.
I dedicate my physical location and online presence to all in the fiber community locally and globally who use their time, talent, energy and resources to bless others.
