Website managers Random Ramblings
1) Luke's Costume: Luke Skywalker's pants in A New Hope were simply off-the-rack Levi's jeans.
2) The Millennium Falcon's Design: The original, long, and cylindrical design was changed after model makers complained it resembled ships from Space: 1999. Lucas requested a "flying hamburger" shape instead.
3) Stormtrooper Armor: In A New Hope, some stormtrooper armor was held together with white gaffer tape.
4) "Blue Milk" Improvement: The infamous blue milk in A New Hope was hard for the cast to drink, but by The Last Jedi, the green milk was improved.
5) The Porgs' Origin: Porgs were created because Skellig Michael, the filming location for Ahch-To, was overrun with puffins. Rather than digitally removing them, the team turned them into "puffin people,"

A Note from Ms. Masters:
Wow! It’s the 100th edition of the Panther Press. The Panther Press started out five years ago when a group of 7th graders (now juniors) approached me about making a student publication, and asked me to be their advisor. It’s been going strong ever since. I’d like to thank all of the students that have contributed to this publication over the past five years. It’s been a lot of fun to organize, and I’m deeply honored to have been part of it.Â
In honor of edition 100, please enjoy the very first ever animation published in the Panther Press. It was created by the one and only Nathanael Scates, the OG Panther Press animator.Â

This week is our last week of Panther Press! (For this year, at least) We’re stopping at volume 100, which, you should know, is the one you’re reading right now! Next year we will continue the paper as normal, but without our eighth grade members. Have a great rest of your year! Go Panthers!
