Year five and six football tournament was amazing, Mr Chambers and Mr Lake took a team of boys to Higham Ferrers school and the boys played amazingly, we played two games without scoring a single goal until we scored the first goal of the day. After that the boys were on a roll we managed to come 11th in the in the tournament, it may not be the best but we took it as a success.
We took a team of year 5 and 6 girls to Manor school to compete in a football tournament. Mr Chambers and Mr Lake were great supporters and coaches. There were 10 girls including: Anika, Charlotte, Aliesha, Amelia, Nicole, Eleanor, Natalia, Caitlyn, Isabel and Maria. They played 4 games they lost 3 and they draw on the last game. Sadly, they scored no goals but they played brilliantly.
Year 6 and 5 went to Rushden Rugby club to play tag rugby we took: Charlotte, Maria, Rushabh, Alex, Samuel, Darrell, Zachary, Jakob, Jake and Keira. They were amazing despite the fact that it was raining and it was freezing cold we got 6th place out of 16 schools.
Mr Chambers and Mr Lake took 8 Year 5 children to Weavers school to take part in a basketball tournament. The games were 3 versus 3, boys first then girls. We faced some tough opposition and with a little more luck could well have done better. Out of our 3 games we lost only one (by just 1 basket) to the eventual winners of the competition. The children, having never competed in a tournament like this, performed really well and can be very proud of themselves. Well done Eithan, Ellis, George, Harrison, Ellie-Louise, Caitlyn and Izzy.
We took a team to a local football competition at Wrenn Academy. The team performed and conducted themselves brilliantly across all 4 games. We lost 2 and had 2 draws (both of which we were last minute equalizers by the opposition) and all the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, despite the bitterly cold conditions! Well done to Meera, Dylan, Cieron, Aaron and Siddartha.
Year two went to the Pemberton Center and they played amazingly. We all walked into the sports hall and we saw all of the other schools - it was huge! The Year 2 pupils did a warm up and then it was practice time. They did brilliantly, after the first run they were tired; they still managed to work hard the second time round one game. We played even better as time went on and managed to come 1st out of seven schools. That is amazing.
We took 7 year 6 children to a netball tournament at Sir Christopher Hatton. We took Alex, Satya, Maria, Rishi, Charly, Aliesha and Lauren. There were 16 other schools our team played exceptionally well, we won our first round. The team tried their best and thanks to their great dedication they came 3rd out of the 16 schools!
On a very windy day we took 24 children from years 3-6 to Croyland Park to take part in the district cross country. When we turned up we were shocked to find out that there were 800 children running in various races over the afternoon. Over a tough course, hilly and slightly damp, the children displayed real courage and never gave up. Our team showed some amazing teamwork and determination and made all the supporting parents and members of staff very proud. Well done to all involved.
We all set off on a very hot day ,we were all really hot it was boiling in the bus. when we got there we started to practice our bowls and catching, the members of our team were: Ellis, Rushabh, OM, Jakob, Alex, Rishi and Satya. We started off by winning our first three games, then we had lunch and spoke about Ellis being an amazing batter. The second half of the day was tough and we played some very good teams, in the first game I made an amazing catch unfortunately I just stepped over the line. Overall we performed very well and came third in the competition.
We set off to Wellingborough cricket club on a cold and rainy day. We took eight girls one year 5 and seven year 6's there names were:Amelia, Charlotte, Keira, Aliesha, Eleanor, Lauren, Maria and Isabel. Luckily, the girls were allowed to wear coats/jackets when they were playing because it was cold and rainy also they were lucky because it had stopped raining when they started their first game. At the beginning none of them knew how to play cricket but at the end they knew all the rules and knew how to play so they came fourth. They tried their best and it had paid off.
