Students will be required to complete a drug screen two (2) weeks prior to clinicals per pharmacy regulations. The drug screen will be done here, on the AHS campus and will occur without prior notice. We use a company called Surscan. The cost per drug screen is approximately $40.
Liability insurance is also needed for the students during their clinical time. This helps protect them if any errors are made. The cost for liability insurance is approximately (subject to change by company) $14.
We will be using school pay to collect funds for both of these items. This will most likely occur in October.
I am not requiring students to purchase scrubs through the school as they have done in previous years. Students may purchase their own scrubs at any retailer they wish. They must buy scrubs that are a single color, no prints. The color of the scrubs do not matter as long as they are professional attire. Students must wear closed toe shoes at all times in the pharmacy. Minimal jewelry is acceptable (i.e. small necklace, stud earrings). Long hair must be pulled back.
