Jillian Duffin is a Dallas native and Alum of McKinney Boyd High School and played club volleyball locally at Madfrog Volleyball Club for 7 years. At Boyd she was selected first team all-district once and second team two times. As a sophomore she set the single season blocking record. She led her team in blocks and finished second in kills as a junior. As a senior she helped lead the Broncos to a 26-13 record and a Class 5A state semifinal appearance. She went on to play volleyball at Rutgers University (D1) her freshman and sophomore year where she tallied 99 kills and 32 total blocks in 22 starts as a freshman.
Jill has been coaching club volleyball since 2019 before she graduated from Univeristy of North Texas in 2020. Previously, Duffin spent her first year at Frisco High School as a varsity assistant and helped lead to a playoff appearance after nearly 6 years. After departing from Frisco, Duffin took a Head coaching job at Whitewright. In her first year she led a young team to the Area round of playoffs. In 2024 she lead the Lady Tigers to the region finals for the first time in 50 years, shying one game short of a state appearance.
Duffin has had much success since starting coaching as well as being player. She strives to push her athletes to be their best physically and mentally. Duffin puts an emphasis on the kids buying into the culture she tries to create and trusting the process to reach a common goal. "I try to understand how each player likes to be coached and motivated. Everyone is different but if you take time to build relationships with them , you get the best out of your athletes because they feel heard."
I’ve been in education for 25 years and spent the first 10 of those coaching, which I absolutely loved. I took some time away from coaching to raise my 3 children, Steven, Isaiah and Katy. After some time away from the court, I jumped back into coaching last years and couldn’t be happier. Sports have always been a big part of my life, and I’m passionate about helping young ladies grow—not just as athletes, but as confident, capable individuals both on and off the court.
This is my 8th year in education and coaching and my first year at Ereckson Middle School. I will be coaching Cross Country, Basketball and Track. I will also be teaching Team Leadership, PE, and Partners PE. I have three kids, Soren-22, Hudson-19, and Annie-16. We all enjoy sports and my boys play collegiate lacrosse in Michigan while my daughter plays basketball in high school. We also enjoy doing anything outdoors together like camping, backpacking, hiking, skiing, etc. I grew up playing all kinds of sports but basketball has always been my favorite. I've continued to enjoy playing a lot of different sports into my adulthood and enjoy being active. I'm excited about the opportunity to continue doing what I love at Ereckson.
I'm beginning my first year at Allen ISD and 24th year overall in public education. My previous stops have been with Killeen ISD, Belton ISD and Robinson ISD. I have coaching experience in swimming, volleyball, softball and tennis. I served as head tennis coach at Robinson HS the last seven years. I'll be the tennis coach and golf coach at Ereckson, and I'll be varsity assistant for tennis at the high school.
