Will you accept the challenge?
This year Evans Elementary Riders are challenged to read all summer long!
Incoming 3rd graders through incoming 6th graders are challenged to read for a total of 1,000 minutes over the summer! This is the same as 20 minutes each day Monday-Friday over the summer or 100 minutes for the whole week.
Incoming kindergarteners through incoming 2nd graders are challenged to read 750 minutes. This is the same as 15 minutes each day Monday-Friday over the summer or 75 minutes for the whole week.
You can read anything you want and anywhere you want. You can choose whether you read it by yourself or have someone read to you! You can listen to an audiobook or read an e-book or a physical hold-in-your-hands book. You can read chapter books, novels, picture books, graphic novels, newspaper articles, websites, magazines or anything else you can think of!
We will be keeping track of how many minutes our Evans Riders read. The grade level with the most minutes read will receive a reward at the beginning of next year. To help you remember all of the reading you do, we encourage your to fill out the report below each week. Just total up the time you have read since the last repot you filled out and then submit the form!
Check out some of the other pages for ideas for books or ways you can find new books. You can also share and recommend books to other Evans Riders!
