Library Materials Proposed for Purchase
Library materials are selected and acquired in accordance with guidelines adopted by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission and the District standards expressed in Allen ISD Board Policy. Allen ISD’s processes for the selection and acquisition of library materials ensure that campus library collections support educational goals and reflect community values. A visual explanation of these processes is shown below.
Campus librarians use the collection development guidelines to create a list of book titles considered for purchase to enhance the library collections. A proposed list of library book titles considered for purchase is posted for review by the community for at least 30 calendar days. The Allen ISD Board of Trustees reviews the proposed list of library materials and considers recommendations of the Local School Library Advisory Council (LSLAC). A decision on the purchase of the proposed titles will be made by a vote of the Allen ISD Board of Trustees.

Public Input Form: Proposed Library Book Titles
These library book titles are available for public review. Feedback will be collected September 4th through October 5th, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
The Local School Library Advisory Council makes recommendations to the School Board on new additions to the District’s library collection. Comments received during this public input period will be reviewed and considered prior to making decisions on the purchase of the proposed library materials. Consideration by the Board of Trustees on the purchase approval of these proposed titles will occur during the Allen ISD Board Meeting scheduled for October 27th, 2025.
